  • Man, don't you just love these episodes that really crank up the animation quality? It's a shame not every episode could be rendered this well.

  • Well, it's clear why they needed to be there.:) One of those ghosts finally found peace and the other one was justly punished.:)

    I love a disney ending. :)

  • enjoy the cartoon and quit asking why this and why that just in enjoy it ! bitching does no good it is not real so deal!

  • @1cornia I like the way you think.

  • I miss Xanatos X( he hasn't been in any episodes in forever!!!!

  • Does anyone die in this show?! First we're led to believe that Demona is dead but then she isn't, we think that the princess and magus are dead but they weren't. The eggs had supposedly perished but they hadn't. Now these two are spirits and not fully dead. You can't believe anything that you see in this show.

  • @AhmedH175 Lol, don't forget the Archmage.

  • Is it wrong that I find the last scene with Hakon pretty funny?

  • One Gargoyle has enough soul for two humans. Sad.

  • haters gonna hate

  • At the end, I bet Elisa's like, "Oh crap. Gotta wait again all day." xD

  • @assilembrandywine LOL!!!!

  • The shadowing is great in this episode! As far as the story, I think Goliath ALSO realized that some places are not worth returning to...ever.

  • keep watching , keep watching

  • Yeah you guys just.. turn to stone. I'll just sit here ALL DAY in this strange new world with no food and wait until you wake back up :DD -Elisa

  • @BabeWhoPwns I always figured when that would happen, Elisa would just hoof it to the nearest village, get some McDonald's (They're everywhere!) Maybe catch a nap at a book store, library or a nice lady's room. (Some lady's rooms have couches where you can sleep off menstrual cramps.) She'd probably pick up some take-out or convenience food to bring back to Angela and Goliath. Maybe a can of Alpo for Bronx.

  • I always felt bad for the Captain. He was the only person who cared about the Clan back in the old days and then he had to watch them all be killed. This is probably my favorite episode because he got to atone for not being able to protect the clan by saving Goliath. Great Episode.

  • Oh, nevermind. Spoke to soon.

  • "We hated you 1000 times more!" Not the guard. The guard loved Golliath. Looks like the writers have fortotten some things from back in the day.

  • 5.52 Goliath... You must go to the Dagobah system...

  • I i was Elisa the turning to stone in the middle of no where with no food or water would bug me just a bit sometimes

  • That cave's so cool.

  • fun fact: Show creator Greg Weisman wishes he had put in the mace Hakon used to slaughter the clan instead of the axe.

  • hakon has 10 accounts.

  • The ending cracked me up. Poor Eliza, she has to sit there all day. XD

  • amazing rock transforming animation.

confused as to why they blame goliath, if I recall they died by Magus' hands.

  • @variously2 No, watch "Awakening" to see what happened.

  • @variously2 no, they died when Goliath confronted them at the cliff when they caught up with an escaping Princess Katherine. Hakon tried to save his own neck by saying it was the Captain who shattered Goliath's clan. The two struggled and knocked all three off the cliff. Goliath saved Katherine, but the other two fell to their deaths. And in true villain fashion they blamed Goliath for this.

  • Wow, I haven't seen this episode in so long! It's one of my favorites! :D

Although, I do wish that ALL the episodes had been done like this one--beautiful animation. The last three episodes of season two, "Future Tense" and a few other ones had great animation as well. ^.^

  • How would ONE being's life force completely replenish the life forces of TWO beings? Is it because Gargoyles live twice as long as humans, and therefore have twice as much life force?

  • @ztslovebird Gargoyles only live twice as long because they spend the day in stasis, but looking at Goliath's size, he may just have that much life force to go around.

  • I love how detailed the old shows were compared to now...plus their butchering all the good shows...spiderman-butchered, The fantastic Four-butchered. ETC.

  • @canariequeen65277 Spectacular Spider-Man wasn't THAT bad! It was created by the same guy who created this show! But the Spider-Man movies do suck pretty bad.

  • Not the best episode ever. "One enemy and one friend"? Guy still betrayed everyone you knew and didn't protect then from the slaughter. Oh, he makes up for it in this episode? How exactly does deciding not to kill someone you've been planning to make up for betraying and killing their family?

  • Holy S, the cave looks like in either Transformer or Alien vs Predator movies

  • I'm surprised Goliath wasn't like, 'How the heck did you two get down here?'

  • NONONONOOOOO!!! Goliaaaaaath!!!!

I love this show. I'm watching it all the way through.

  • @RyuchanWings so am i lol loving it

  • I think Haecon (sp) got what he deserved lol

  • Goliath faced his "demons"

  • that night.... was the longest night i've ever seen....

  • well what the heck is Elisa supposed to do for the next 12 or so hours? sit there and have staring contests with statues?

  • @AutobotChick25 Graffiti the gargoyles

  • @clockworkdeity Niiiiiiii~ce! I could get SO evil with that.... *cackles*

  • @AutobotChick25 maybe take the chance to have a bath lol, first thing that popped in my mind when people say they were gone for 2 weeks was I hope she has a change of underwear

  • @AutobotChick25 Well she would probably sleep for about eight hours. Then look for something to eat and possibly bathe. By then it would be nightfall.

  • Yeah elisa, wait till everyone whose around is turned to stone and THEN snuggle up to Goliath. No witnesses. XD

  • Soooo... they turn to stone and she gets left alone somewhere in the world for the next 12 hours... I'd be pissed... >.>

  • Oh yeah, my friends just turned into statues, I think i'll just chill here in Scotland til night.

  • 6:57 Now Eliza is stuck on a random islad in the middle of nowhere by herself for an entire day. Yippee skip.

  • @Carlosperen She was probably so tired after all that happened that night that she slept with them XD I can picture her sleeping against Goliath and when he wakes up with his epic roar...well, probably not a pleasant thing to wake up too ;)

  • U know smacking Demona to the ground felt good, Goliath. Why not the real one?????????

  • I always wonder: how the hell does Elisa keep her sanity through all this sh*t? Laser guns, magic, time travel, robots, ghosts and mutated flying tigers... It's even too much for me sometimes :P

  • @imnotok45 I guess she gets used to it? xD Its the same thing with her never sleeping xD Eliza's just cool like that xDD

  • @imnotok45 Perhaps her police training comes into play. Plus she is smart and tough..

  • So Lisa hasnt had any food since they left that magical island?

  • Not without anyone to hate!

    BLAAAARRRHH!

  • I love the music to this..

  • Am I the only one who thought that when hatekon said I can feel that Elisa was gonna pop up and say feel this then shoot hm

  • Is it just me or is Hatekon voiced by the same guy who voices Macbeth

  • @Geoxe333 No Hacyon's voice isn't Macbeth's, it's Wolf from the Pack. And that wasn't because they were short on voice actors.

  • Those columns remind me a lot of Might and Magic. They've got that same purple-magic-tech design a lot of thing in the series used to have.

  • I wouldn't call this 'filler,' I would rather say that it was very fitting, considering the history behind the reason so few of them exist. I always thought the traitor deserved another chance... and he finally got it.

  • Can't see it, please fix!!!

  • Why does this scene remind me of Captain America and Red Skull's struggle? lol

  • @egnesii but captain america

    never betraid anyone besides in

    spiderman the animated series

he had to continue his sufering while

that guy was free of it

  • anyone other than me feel like this was a filler episode? ) :|

  • @WolfPaw19 Totally.

  • isnt it weird they never eat during episodes

  • I was just thinking that haha, Elisa has to wait the entire day there like, without any munchies... O.o

  • She's been up all night running around a cave. I'm sure she'll take this opportunity to get some shut eye herself!

  • So they just turn into stone and Elisa just naps? Wouldn't she get hungry after waiting for 10-12 hours till sundown?

  • Whats with the Alien structure?

  • Gargoyles is about hope. It gives you hope that there's more to us than all this bullshit that surrounds us. The captain came full circle and Goliath forgave him for what he did. It has to be one of the deepest episodes of any animated series I've ever watched.....

  • @mthakore Yeah, the capt wasn't evil, he just tried to do what he thought was best for his gargoyles pals... but fucked up BIG TIME.

I always felt sorry for him, so i liked this episode, he finally atoned for his fuck-up and to Goliath

  • should have left the end off not show hakon. before the two guys just had to wait in there and played pinochle.

  • One of the zombie gargoyles looked a lot like Brooklyn. Maybe it's his dad?

  • Wouldn't it suck if the Gargoyles turned to stone while they were on the skiff? Elisa would be S.O.L! And yes, I know that the Gargoyles are biological in tune with nature and all that stuff, so they wouldn't board the skiff once they saw the sun was rising, blah blah. But I'm just saying, that would suck if that happened.

  • They are onboard the skiff all the time when they are stone later on...

  • @volpe3fuego The Gargoyles do turn to stone while on the skiff in later episodes.

  • @Deined Yeah I'm saying it'd suck because Elisa would have to do the rowing and she has 3 heavy ass stone statues on the skiff.

  • Hakon gets what he deserves (even though he comes back in "Vendettas"). Great Villain. Great series. you always what to see the Villain get what they deserve.

  • Vendetta episode was freakin hilariouse.. lol

  • I can't live here alone, without anyone to hate

    LOL ROFL

  • Don't cross the streams Goliath!

  • I would have prefered a final battle with a solid Hakon on the same cliff where goliath was turned to stone. Still the point is that Goliath face his ghosts.

  • @pirateking193 Goliath's strength here is not brute force but in appealing to someone's better nature, just like Luke did with Vader in "Return of the Jedi" and Spidey did with Doc Ock in "Spider-Man 2".

  • The animation on this episode is superb! The characters motion so fluidly, and the colouring is beautiful.

  • great episode

  • This episode should've been called Goliath's Mindfuck. He appears to be going through one.

  • @TyRiders2 Somehow I dought they'd give that title to an episode of a DISNEY show. ;)

  • 4:12

It's a good thing Goliath's loincloth always knows exactly where to fall!

  • unfortunatly so does Demona's

  • Gargoyle on an airplane. Don't know the answer to the question, but it's an interesting image.

  • I just had a thought. If a gargoyle flies in an airplane around the world, and stays on the darkside of the world, will it he/she ever turn to stone?

Or what if a gargoyle goes into space? What happens then?

  • im guessing its some kind of magic that makes them turn to stone maybe if theyre in space the magic wont be bound to them but I dunno its a theory

  • If they did that, they'd run out of energy since they aren't replenishing it during the day.

  • Well, the comic book has shown that Gargoyles do experience jetlag. I'm guessing that Avalon is shielding Goliath and Angela from it, but in the comic Lexington and Hudson go to England with Macbeth, and they stay stone for about 3 hours past sunset.

  • I've never read the comics. Do you know anywhere I could download them?

  • Not sure about downloading, though I'm sure there's a torrent site somewhere... You can find them on Amazon, though, under the title "Clan Building".

  • hahahaha dont leave me alone..

    not without anyone to hate!

    what a hater

  • wait! a thousand years? yet castle wyvern still stands where it was... what time period are they in?

  • No, Castle Wyvern isn't still standing there; Goliath only thought he saw it for a moment. They didn't go to a different time period. The castle is right where it's been, on top of Xanatos's tower.

  • he hasn't been dead a millenium

  • "Don't leave me here alone! Not without anyone to hate!"

hehe. horrible and hilarious line. horrlarious.

  • Say that word out loud and hear how dirty it sounds.

  • Horrlarious....uhhh, you sure you wanna use that particular phrasing?? Well okay...if you say so...Lol. ;P

  • @wuzzap33 horrlarious :D

    Nice one (:

  • lol at goliath's face at 6:00

  • This was the most beautiful episode. What a wonderful feeling. In the end, the Scottish managed to atone for his guilt.

  • One went to heaven and One went to Hell.

  • Not even to Hell. He's stuck there in those caves with nothing and nobody. Imagine what that must be like.

  • @Draeckon

Yeah, VERY boring. You just sit there and do NOTHING for eternity.

  • Sucks for Elisa at the end. She has to sit on cliff face alone for 12 hours. Looks like there wasn't any towns nearby either.

  • its funny how that viking guy couldnt even read before but now he's the one controlling the magic temple thing

  • Well, he's had plenty of time to learn.

  • Did anyone else want to yell "Behold the power of history!" when the golem Demonia appeared?

I can't help but think that that thing is a giant alien computer- which brings a whole new level to 'computer crash'

  • haha when Bronx comes into the cave he coos like he's awestruck

  • Ironic - someone else has the epiphany Demona is long overdue for.

  • @ JillRoxyG

You said : "Ironic - someone else has the epiphany Demona is long overdue for."

    I say: DAMN STRAIGHT! XD

  • Does the same voice actor speak for Wolf, and Hakon?

  • yes cuz Hakon is Wolf's ancestor

  • His name is Clancy Brown. He was in Highlander, Carnivale, and he was the other guy in the hatch with Desmond on "Lost".

  • man i love that line "dont leave me here alone, not with anyone to hate" hahahahahaha

  • Hey, what happened to the blond-viking guy? Did he go to hell? O.O

  • No he got stuck in 1 of the pieces of the ruins ^_^

  • I'm glad that Goliath forgave the Captain it really shows how emotional strong he is. I don't think I could ever forgive the guy who helped kill my family.

  • Forgiveness is hard, but the alternative is to risk ending up like Demona.

  • SO MY QUESTION IS...why did the boat feel that this is where Goliath needed to be????? pfff im sure he would've been better off just going home.

  • mermaidhun: If Goliath had not come here, his old friend's spirit would have hated and been trapped in that cave until the end of time. Now he has found peace and the duche-bag is now where he can do no more harm. Maybe Avalon sent Goliath there because he was the only one who could do it.

  • Plus now his own emotional wounds of the experience can start to heal.

  • Thanks so much for uploading these video's. I wish they still made cartoons like this with actual plots and dialogue.

  • Too true then again TV in general's not as good as it used to be. This was a great show.

  • I truly believe the 90's was when animated TV series reached their zenith: Besides Gargoyles, you had Batman, Spider-Man, TMNT, Sonic the Hedgehog, and X-Men. Some of the Disney Afternoon shows were a tad silly at times but Aladdin and Darkwing Duck were great. This was the decade the introduced Pinky and the Brain as well!

    (Probably a few I missed).

  • @toddsmitts don't forget motorbiker mice from mars, extreme ghostbusters and bot master

  • @toddsmitts freakazoid

  • @toddsmitts any idea where to buy 1 or all of them??

  • @Mynkmysteryoftheink Not sure how many stores have them on the shelves, but lots of places will special order them for you. HMV does special orders. I got my sets through Blockbuster. Be warned: the Season 2 set is only the first of what was supposed to be a 2 volume set (part 2 was never released, sadly). It cuts off a few eps into the World Tour. They both have some commentaries on some episodes, interviews with actors, and an intro to each ep by creator Greg Daniels.

  • @toddsmitts don't forget about the chip and dale show and the ducks!

  • I just thought of something...

    who's taking care of Elisa's kitty? D:

  • Broadway and Hudson, of course ;)

  • rofl

  • Loool

  • When does Elisa eat?

  • and when does she sleep

  • During the day.

  • They return to Avalon every time so she has plenty of opportunities to eat. Plus, I'm sure she could have found places to eat in London, Prague, Paris, etc.

  • Hey how can they know how many years went by if they were stuck in the caves with no night or day and no watches?

  • poor elisa.........what will she do until sundown hahaha

  • Weird magic computers.

  • Awe, this was a beautiful episode. At first, it was ticking me off and then it all worked out in the end. I'm happy for the Captain of the guard for being able to atone for his betrayal and self hate. <3

  • Gargoyles would be all over Scotland and men and gargoyles would live in harmony together, no action, no interesting plot-twists.

  • you dont know that they could have had more Vilains that way maybe

  • well it would have been more understandable

  • Oh Yes! If they weren't turned to stone, they'd have to fight Hordes of Viking enemies invading Scotland, they'll still live by night and become stone by day, and maybe, they'll go to Avalon! and then retreat during the Gathering.. Omg, Demona won't be evil and she'll still be with Goliath

  • but then again Brooklyn Lexington Broadway Bronx Hudson and Demona would called Brookly Lexinton Broadway Bronx Hudson and Demona Becuase they didn't have names back in the Middleages until they came to New York and meet Elisa and Explore the City and Demona didn't get her name until she ment Mcbeth

  • What are you talking about? What dont you understand about Gargoyles? It's complex, but not hard to follow. Are you watching all the episodes in order from the beginning??

  • its was easy to follow but how time change in it and the flashback of what demona went through made a little hard to understand

  • Wow! Talk about messed up. Now his stuck in the life stones or stone.

  • At least until episode 2-46...

  • He is still undead, and he will have one more chance to torment Goliath.

  • The screwed up part was that it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

  • What shouldn't have happen the Magus not puting the Sleep Spell on the Gargoyles or hikon Destrying their Brothers and Sisters

  • All of it should have never happened. If the Captain and Demona hadn't betrayed the castle in the first plce. The other Gargoyles would still be alive and the spell would have never happened.

  • why didn't Demona just have the Gargoyles that were Destroyed leave Castle herself dont i recall that Golaith left her in Charge when he and Hudson left to find the Vikings

  • Goliath also told her to stay and guard the Castle. Goliath would have been suspicious if she would have done that. Remember she helped plan the whole thing. She would have gotten into a lot trouble.

  • well she didn't have to tell him that she could have told him this {i had our clan taken out of the Castle in case the Vikings attack during the day which they did}
