I"ll tell you what, I went to many a sock hop in High School, from 1955 to 1959, and NEVER so kids dance the way these kids did. Take a look at the ones in the background, and you will see the way they actually danced. This was staged, put on for the public's sake. Why do they embellish all these things in our era. I have to laugh at their total lack of real knowledge of our times. Poodle skirts?, were NOT the big thing, just look at any yearbook, and you will see. They wanted a symbol.
@kiddo78mn Well, I can say this, it's not that the girls didn't wear them, because they did, just not to the extent that they portray in today's history lessons. I guess they just wanted something to represent the era, and they choose the poodle skirt, just as they seem to use the white T-Shirt and rolled up jeans to represent the guys in the '50's, when in reality, that is what the 'hoods' or tough guys, wore, not at all representative of the 'average' teenager.
@MrALF423 You got it, brother, we didn't get obese, because we didn't sit around with ipads, our iphones, or sit with our computers or watched TV, we actually got out and did things!
and that's "our guy" Joe Lanza and his partner Ruby doing the back flip, etc. Joe has white shoes and a dark jacket. Joe passed in 2011, but lives on in film. Go Joe!
this song was featured in top gear, in the episode in wuch they reviewed the kia rio

I agree. My Mother is HS class of 1958 and she says the same thing (although, she did have a poodle skirt)!

The Beatles covered both sides of this stellar single.... Slow Down and Dizzy Miss Lizzy. But there's nothin' like hearing the originals.
