@bennihana123 At the top you say you know you're missing Haumea but this video does show Haumea at 1:06 with a group of other dwarf planets. However it is listed as 2003 EL. It probably wasn't named at the time this picture was made. Anyway it looke loke a football. lol
actually a celestial body resembling a small planet but lacking certain technical criteria that are required for it to be classed as such and this is about the dwarf planet and its the smallest planet in space
Think of all the memorization the kids would have to do if we included all the dwarf planets and TNOs as planets! There would be at least three dozen planets in our system.
What if a TNO object was discovered that's bigger than Mercury? That would be interesting. Pluto is in the right class though. It is more like a TNO than the other 8 planets.
@Venix9999 Most of the actual pictures of these objects are so far away that this is the best quality we have so far. The New Horizons probe is set to pass Pluto in 2014-2015 so we should have some high-quality images then. Sorry :P
@BrodyDawg12 Please read the comments before telling something I already know. Ceres is in that image in the TNO section because it is comparing the sizes of various celestial bodies. I know I should have shooped it but seeing as I was in the 7th grade when I made this I hope you can spare the harsh criticism. Thanks for the input anyways.
@Glennfalconi Actually there are a few reasons Pluto was "demoted", even ignoring "size" and "elliptical orbit"...
1) It has more in common with other TNOs than with other 'classes' of planet (gas giants and terrestrials).
2) If you brought Pluto into the inner solar system, it would form a tail like a comet, which is very un-planet-like!
3) If Pluto is a planet, how many other TNOs become planets? There are possibly thousands of these objects in the Kuiper Belt - where do you draw the line?
This suggests that items in the Asteroid Belt (between Mars & Jupiter) are also Trans-Neptunian Objects? Ceres, Pallas and Vesta are in the Asteroid Belt, much closer than and far away from Neptune! Author needs more research.
@maryellencastello Ceres is listed in the Dwarf Planet section but the images in the TNO section included the asteroids with Ceres and the TNO's. Thanks for pointing it out I should have photoshopped it.
@350z350zify It does exist, but it got Blown up by an Asteroid. A rock chunk of Nibiru was floating around space and accidentally entered a Orbit around the Sun that's Intersecting Earth's Orbit, and Somewhere around 2029 or 2036, They will Collide. That is how 99942 Asteroid Apophis is made, A Rock chunk of Planet Nibiru...
@GranTurismo360 hmmm, i have heard of apophis, apophis in 2029 has to pass through a tiny loophole in our orbit to have a possible chance of hitting us in 2036 and the chances of it passing through the loophole are 1 in 1100. But WOW, i didnt know that apophis was made from pieces of nibiru.
@350z350zify Yeah, that's a shocker. P.S Did you know in Egypt, "Apophis" means "Destroyer"? And I bet now, Asteroid Dactyl and Asteroid Ida have collided by now Since they share the same orbit... =(
Well Neptune and Pluto collide orbits every year, and since they have been here for about 5 billion or so years give or take a few, id say not cus they havnt collided yet...but itd be awesome if they did.
This video gave me goosebumps, especially when you came to Sedna. I've lately had a new fascination for 'TNO's'. Just to think that Sedna is three times as distant from the sun is mind boggling, especially when the size of our own planet is inconceivable. I can't wait until New Horizons gets to Pluto. Expecting disappointment in finding nothing, but I'm still interested in photographs.
Sorry to change the subject but this is space-related.
To see a partial summary of the clear evidence that the Apollo moon missions were faked, google "The Naked Scientists". In the "New Theories" section of the forum there's a thread entitled "Did We Land on the Moon?". The summary is on page 15. It's the 7th one from the top.
Once people have seen the hoax evidence, there's nothing anyone can do to make them believe we went to the moon.
Maybe in hundreds of years, but just getting there would be hard enough. Let alone live on them, the cold would be a major issue. I think Mars is our best bet for a second colonized planet.
awesome video, fills the heart and mind with with wonder-lust.
