Not only will factory wages ultimately rise - it will also increase the voting base of those who do want their incomes to rise faster!
Specifically, if factory workers (with clean criminal records of course) from the BRIC's, Mexico, etc were recruited here and given education and opportunities for career advancement, factory wages in the US would probably drop at first - but rise in the long run (since they wouldn't be effectively competing with slave labor in other parts of the world...). The problem with your reasoning is that ALL countries are made up of immigrants if you want to go back far enough. The people living in any given area are almost never the original inhabitants.

If the US were actively to screen and recruit laborers working in the BRIC's, maqueadoras, etc, and spend fiscal stimulus on their education and career advancement: the US housing market would rebound, factory wages would rise faster in the BRIC's (and those remaining would be less desperate to leave), the US current account would swing to surplus, the GDP growth would bouy the equity markets, and the tax revenue generated would shore up our fiscal deficits.

Now illegal aliens can get a free ticket home by turning themselves in to Immigration and Customs Enforcement rather than spend time in prisons. The newest government plan to cut back on an ever-increasing population of illegals. "Operation Scheduled Departure" will give illegal aliens who don't have criminal histories a chance to turn themselves in and avoid detention.

ICE officers get orders to let a few of these illegals go in order to meet the demands of your labor force, so you might want to think about a different group of officers, which are not corrupt, LMAO! The illegals can now walk into ICE, schedule departure, have several weeks to pack their belongings and fly or bus out of the country without facing arrest. She said the program helps illegals dodge home and work raids, but it doesn't offer incentives for self-deportation.

Your argument is based on the assumption that her parents immigrated to the U.S. illegally. There is a distinction between immigrants who properly acquire citizenship, and those who violate the law by entering the U.S. without proper documentation. Most fair minded people can agree that illegal immigration reform is necessary. The federal government has failed to enforce border security, and as a result the State of Az has the third highest kidnapping rate in the world (not country).

The problem with your reasoning is that ALL countries are made up of immigrants if you want to go back far enough. The people living in any given area are almost never the original inhabitants.
Even relatively homogeneous countries like Japan were formed by waves of immigration from the Asian mainland. Those later people displaced the original Ainu inhabitants. Similar things happened with all the countries of Europe and the Americas.
