I believe the blonde is Linda Phillips, Mickey's secretary. She had a thing for him when he was married to Laura--since Bill is married to Laura now, I believe this was when Mickey was single and hadn't yet met Maggie; hence, Linda Phillips is in the picture.

This is Thanksgiving 1971. That was the year Ben died. They miss Addie because she's still in Paris, not because she's dead. The two "newcomers" that Tom mentions are Doug and Linda (seated next to Mickey). Doug and Julie were having an affair even though she was still married to Scott; Linda and Mickey were having an affair even though he was still married to Laura.

@caderuse But keep in mind Laura was no saint either, she cheated on Mickey with his own brother Bill, who actually raped her(yuck!) Laura got her just desserts years later when Bill cheated on her with Kate and Laura went off her rocker and got sent to the looney bin!

Is that Linda Patterson in this clip? The blond looks like either Laura or Linda, but Tom says that Laura and Scott aren't there. Why would Linda Patterson be at the family dinner? Was Mickey or Bill married to Laura at this time?

Addie died from getting hit by a car after pushing Hope to safety.

On the Tommy situation: its been a mystery for years is he or isn't he, but he is suppose to be still alive. No mentions of him dying so he is still out there.

A reflection by Macdonald Carey (Tom Horton) and John Clarke (Mickey Horton).... this was a very heartfelt and poignant moment for the Horton's.

If I do recall, Addie died of cancer while she was pregnant with Hope in 1974.

This clip is not after Addie died. This was right after they received word from England that Addie's husband Ben had died. At this point Julie was married to Scott Banning. Shortly after this Addie returned to Salem and eventually met Doug, but this clip is before her death.

@pwrballer I think you're correct. Scott is mentioned as though he were still alive. He died before Addie did.

It was strongly implied this June during Alice's final days that Bill and Marie were the only surviving children. The way DAYS handled Alice's death was top-notch, nothing like the shoddy treatment ATWT gave Nancy Hughes.

@joneshn But Tommy may be alive. The two actors that played him are dead but since none of them died while in the role, Tommy could actually come back. But the man's gotta be in his late 80's now so then again he could be dead or damn well near it!

I hate the way soaps tend to forget about former members of the core families. Tommy and Addie were twins. There should be some mention every once in a while. New writers need to read up on the history of these soaps before they take the job.

@travis082185 Tommy is still, supposedly, alive. Sandy is Tommy's daughter. Tommy was mentioned twice last year during the commercial trivia questions, but the writers like to pretend that Tommy doesn't exist when his character should be there onscreen or mentioned, so his ornament wasn't displayed last year, as it was in the past, but will likely be up this year after Alice's memorial...

@bmf1706 yes sir but what I meant was that he is NEVER mentioned by anybody in his family. there are still Horton's there. very few but enough. I don't think they've shown his ornament but it's all disrespectful. they never mention him like he never existed(yet they can mention Bill the black sheep all the time) to bring his ornament back in Alice, that just raises stupidity because it only takes a tragedy just to get a mention of an important member of fam's past. Shame on Days!

@travis082185 It's possible that Tommy is dead, there was a line around Tom Sr's funeral that may have suggested it, but it may not have meant that at all. Many fans assume he is still alive, but the writers still may end up having him have died some time in the past, if that's their prerogative.

@billyjill well his name is rarely mentioned and nothing's been proven, I think he rather just disappeared but since he served for war torn countries, maybe however SC proved awhile back that Tommy hadn't died(these are people who worked for years on soaps as reporters so they know their stuff) however the last actor that played him died in 1979 but Tommy was gone by then.

Yes, Tommy is still alive but the actor who last played him died in 1979 however Tommy was off campus so if they replace him, he can come back for Alice's funeral, I don't the one died was the original(replacements were the horrible things of soaps, so many left and were replaced it made your head spin) and Sandy is the daughter of Tommy and the late Kitty Horton.

@travis082185 Sandy is Tommy & Kitty (Tommy's dead wife) daughter...Dr. Sandy Horton, she was on Days in the early 80s...she is Alice and Tom's granddaughter.

@travis082185 The actor who played him died in 1993, so it's been implied that the character is also dead, but never fully confirmed.

Probably because it was a flashback from 1990 (which maybe even aired a few years later in Australia, which is the source of my clip).

Hope there's some more Horton flashbacks next month on Days.
