  • What company makes the most realistic/best quality model trains?

  • EXCELLENT... so much better than these layouts with extra high speed trains...lovely.... you've certainly re-created a 'gods wonderful railway' here

  • Is this model kept anywhere for the public to see. i can just about remember Abingdon station when it was still in operation. Also remember when they cut down the glass canopy and a crane that was near the platform. wonderful model. I wasdestined to be transferred from Oxford rail station to Abingdon in 1976, but because of frequent delays by the management I decided to leave for a better paid job.

  • Are the buildings self build ?

  • Wonderful layout. Video could have done with some music to back it though.

  • Very realistic modelrailroad. Lots of details.

    Nice camerawork!

  • wow! an inspiring layout!

  • fantastic craftmanship and detail well done !

  • song song song song song!!!

  • amazing purely amazing i've watched all 3 vids and all spectacular

  • Brant, Another wonderful effort. I had an opportunity several years back to visit Sophos Anti-Virus (a client of ours at the time), which had its head office on the outskirts of Abingdon. I'm sorry I didn't visit the railway station. By the sounds of it, things have changed significantly since the era you've modelled!

  • awesome

im selling my 00 gauge hornby stuff and down grading to N gauge and starting my little project.

this video has gave me some good ideals

  • nice, realy picturesqu!

  • Wow! Thanks for the memory..I grew up in Abingdon in the 60s and have seen so many changes made to the town that its often hard to remember what used to be where.

  • Very very nice. i recongnised a lot of the rolling stock from my layout. i've got a gwr pannier tank on ebay if anyone's interested...

  • i grew up in abingdon in the 50's and 60's and remember it well. you've done a great job. the passenger train went between abingdon and radley and was called the "abingdon bunk". thanks for the memory.

  • Superb! I used to go to the Abingdon model railway exhibition but missed this when it was there. Nice to see it at last!

  • Very nice video

  • Fantastic layout but the video could benefit from a little sound.

  • What a beautiful layout. Well thought through and great attention to detail.

Thanks for sharing it with us!

  • There is a web site for the former Abingdon Railway branch line, google for Abingdon Branch

  • Great layout extremely well made and runs smooth too !

  • Did you live there in the 50's/60's?

  • Where did you get these GWR locos? c:

  • Hi SnowflakeTH,

The engines are a Dapol 14xx with autotrailer, Bachmann/Farish Diesel Railcar, Bachmann/Farish Pannier Tank and Dapol sloped tank Prairie.

They came from GeeDee Models in Nottingham and Trainlines of Derby but I'm afraid I don't remember which from each shop.

    Cheers,

    Brant

  • Lovely! Can we expect a video of Rorgyle soon? Saw it today at Braunstone, very impressed!

  • Hi Sleepyrider

Thank you for your kind comment. We thoroughly enjoyed the Braunstone show and are hoping, if Chris and John organise another exhibition and we get invited, to show Abingdon there next year.

I am hoping to get a video of Rorgyle done in the near future.

    Thank you again.

    Brant

  • This is one of the best N gauge layouts I've ever seen!... I hope that mine gets this good!... I'm on my way,I'll have a video as soon as my camera is working again!

  • Thank you for your very kind comments. Let me know when you've got the video of your layout done - I look forward to seeing it.

  • Thanks for the comments.

Yes it is N gauge and it measures about 5 feet by 16 inches. More details about the layout can be found on my website.

The engines are a Dapol 14xx with autotrailer, Bachmann/Farish Diesel Railcar, Bachmann/Farish Pannier Tank and Dapol sloped tank Prairie.

    Cheers

    Brant

  • Are you sure thats N? It looks more like OO gauge. Either that or its because its a large layout.

But very nice. I wish i had the space to extend mine to look like this.

What engines do you own on this line?
