I've noticed that there are other minor references to Super Mario 64, other than the level itself in this Galaxy. 2 skeeters appear in the pool, and skeeters made their first appearance in Super Mario 64. The single wiggler may be a reference to the fact that there was was only one wiggler in Super Mario 64.
