this is in Camp Pendleton. I was in one of these when I was a young marine and I got to ride in one and we went into the water also. Our Marine in the back who was to make sure the back door was latched shut, wasn't latched all the way and we took in almost 2feet of water. Our boots were drenched and so was our equipment.
I see these Videos of the New Tracks & It's amazing all the changes from the old LVTP7 to the newer AAVP7A1...The old LVTP7 was still very modern compared to the old Alligators, and crap they had way back that were so heavy and slow. It's been 29 yrs. since I saw films in AAV School on Camp Delmar at Camp Pendleton, CA(1982) that they said something like only 1of 8 or 1 in 6 actually made it to the shore as they just got blown outta the water casue they were so heavy, slow, & no mobility at all.
@laturner1911 "Long time ago?!?" Try 30 years. I was 2nd Plt, Bravo Co, 3rd Tracks, and back then they told us LVT's (now AAV's) were gonna be replaced by something new and different. I guess it's true...You can't improve on perfection. Albeit, you younger Trackers have a much nicer Turret with that 40mm.

HOW CAN A VEHICLE LIKE THAT FLOAT?
svamse 2 years ago
From the way its built. It is shaped like a boat on the top half which enables it to float & it also has propellers at the back-end of it.
USMCjunior117 2 years ago
@USMCjunior117
Sorry, but it does not have propellers.
tracs1833 1 year ago
@USMCjunior117 it has some sort of pressurized water jet that powers it, like a sea doo

@101andrewj True,thanks for the info..I have remarked,that it maneuvers similar to that of a sea doo aswell...
