This was a really nice tribute, you should be proud of yourself.
I found out about his passing when I was browsing a fanfiction sight, and I noticed several fics along the lines of "The Doctor says goodbye to the brigadier". It came as a real shock to me
I had no idea he was on the Sarah Jane show. I remember they made reference to him in the Sontoran episode of Doctor Who. Had no idea he was in a Hartnell epiisode!
In the very short time of me being introduced to Doctor Who, I honestly think that The Brigadier was the best companion The Doctor ever had, and Nicholas Courtney played the role so wonderfully his departure from this world will make the TARDIS seem just a little bit more empty. A Five Rounds Rapid salute in honor of this great man who has provided so many hours of entertainment and may he rest in peace.
As the Brigadier, Nicholas Courtney fought and helped defeat so many monsters, but sadly in the end there was one monster he could not defeat and i curse it's name for taking him.
At ease soldier, rest now while the universe sings you to your sleep.
Ed, that sent shivers down my spine, you so perfectly put this together in such a short timne and in such a short amount of screen time. Nice to see a fan obituary that touches on the man behind the character, but which pushes the visual material from the series to the fore. It's much appreciated, thanks.
I once met Nicholas, quite a few years ago, he was a lovely and charming. I have never done it before, but I have posted a personal tribute on my channel. Please feel free to listen to it.
how utterly tragic. A mainstay of the series; with every new doctor the eventual meeting of the usually retired Brig was always a high point.. Last one I believe was Mr. McCoy.
One of the perils of someone creating such an enduring well-loved character, is that you somehow think the actor himself is going to be around forever.
Thanks for all those golden moments, "Greyhound Leader". You were the heart of that show.
@eateroftheflame Surely they will - after all, Harry got his mention (in the past tense) and he was too magnificent a character for them not to honour within the canon).
Splendid chap. Only member of the Doctor Who cast (barring an embarrassing meeting with Barrowman) I have ever met personally, always a good sport with the fans.
Some things were better about Dr. Who back then, and he was one of the people that made that possible. RIP and thank you.

In remembrance of the recent deaths of some of our most favorite Doctor Who actors, professionals to the last...
R.I.P Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart (actor Nicolas Courtney - deceased early 2011 age 81)
Sarah Jane Smith (actress Elizabeth Sladen - deceased mid 2011 age 63)
The 4th Doctor (actor Tom Baker - deceased mid 2013 age 79)
We miss each of you dearly and remember you on TV like it was yesterday (for me, it was)
Long live Dr. Who, we'll enjoy your presence for many millennia yet to come...

I hope the BBC or someone still has the tapes of the unshown comedy with Frankie Howard and shows it on TV one day.

His wonderful and sparkling personality, his kindness and wit, and his unmitigated wry brilliance, leaves a permanent void that can never be filled.

There was a wonderful parallel universe that I used to escape to as a child. Nicholas Courtney helped build it.
For that, I am eternally grateful.
