I was all set to go Alienware. I ended up going Blackbird because their prices dropped and having a functional case appealed to me more than having a pretty one.
Plus the Hard drive and DDR3 ram options were better on the Blackbird I was looking at compared to the Area-51.
to save some cash instead of buying this junk. For those of you that are not good builders :p. Go to your local electronic store and buy the cheepest pc they have. Probably 400$ then buy a 8800 and add some Ram! That will do you! for those who know how to build i bet you'll save like 3000$ if you buy all that seperately lol. thats what i did
Dont nvidia and ati card work in the same slot.. my piece of crap refurbished hp has used both ati and nvidia and both worked fine, would have been cooler if the MB could support both amd and intel processors
Pffftt.... the only good think about this computer must probably be its case..Thats waht i want. I built a 10x better computer for maybe 3,000 less tehn this thing sells for. DDR3 ram, 1000 watt PSu, p5k3 delux motherboard, quad core, and 8800GTS for all 1,500.
actually dell, hp, and gateway all sell computers that are good for a few years and then you need to shell out a couple of thousand to get a new one. they offer little to no upgrade capability.
building youre own pc is so mush better, sony computers are the only ones from experience, you can buy old ones and recustimize them becuase they use really good asus motherboards.
yes but right now their 566-800$ blue ray burners and players. Only sony and panasonic makes them and right now its not worth it. maybey in a few years.
re writer means that after you burn info on a disc a re writer will erase that info by burning new info in its place. it uses the laser to realign the crystals on the disc.
i don't use rewrite discs for two basic reasons.
1. the regular DVD writes (-r not +r) are so cheap now if i want to write new info I'll just use another disc
2. rewrites are more expensive
3. every time you rewrite the disc it is partially damaged like over time when you make a copy of a copy of a copy so fourth.
build it urself for half the price

my next comp is black bird 002
HungKiet 3 years ago
dude... u should build ur own...
but the black bird has a unique motherboard-supports both Xfire and SLI
Besides that, you could build your own pc with similar or better specs for about $3000 (while the blackbird is above $4000)

Now you're forgetting CPU speeds too, plus all the heating and cooling issues, and one 8800 isnt compared to a dual-gpu system.

Is it possible to add a Blu-ray drive on it instead of a HD-DVD drive?

yes but right now their 566-800$ blue ray burners and players. Only sony and panasonic makes them and right now its not worth it. maybey in a few years.

Do you know what's a Blu-ray Rewriter and HD DVD-ROM Super multi-drive with LightScribe (CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW/RAM, +R/RW, +/- R DL)?
IiIbao 4 years ago
no i can only used pre exsisting concepts to assume that a blue ray rewriter might be like the differrence between dvd r- and dvd r+
everytime they release new tech they have to rename standards that confuse people.
godscuttingyoudown 4 years ago
right now a good deal ive seen is a samsung multi (or dual 8.5gb) layer, light scribe dvd burner that has ide or sata versions that go for 50$.
ive seen cheaper but years of experience has proven to me that samsung or pioneer is the best of dvd writers.
godscuttingyoudown 4 years ago
Rewriters allows you to save something on a disc?
IiIbao 4 years ago
