  • So many dcócs are idiots.

Had a doc (also derm) tell me that he couldnt do anything. when I started crying he said "Stop crying and calm down, its not cancer." and another said "Can't you just go to a hairdressers and make them do a nice hairdo on you?" I literally screamed THATS NOT WHAT ITS ABOUT!!!

I have female androgenetic alopecia. Caling for the form for govn funded wigs tomorrrow

  • U should def. find a different doc. Btw u r gorgeous.

  • BABYGIRL STOP GOIN TO THAT DOCTOR. I WENT TO MY FIRST DOCTOR AT 14. HE TOLD ME CUT ALL MY HAIR OFF AND WALKED OUT THE ROOM. MY MOM WAS WITH ME, SHE SAID "GUESS WE WON'T BE COMIN BACK HERE". MY MOM WAS SEEIN A DERM FOR CANCER WHO HELPED HER. WE WENT TO HIM AND HE WAS SO UNDERSTANDING. WE TRIED CORTISONE SHOTS EVERY 6 WKS. BY THE 3RD VISIT MY LOSE STOPPED, BY THE 4TH MY HAIR GREW BACK. JUST HANG IN THERE N FIND A BETTER DOC. REMEMBER ITS CAUSED BY STRESS. SO IDENTIFY YOUR STRESSORS AND CUT EM OUT

  • @MZJONESYXOXO Thank you for understanding my frustration! I am definitely not going there anymore. I am trying to be very laid back lol and trying to take my vitamin d every day. Thanks for all ya'll support

  • I just found out I have AA. I found a large spot on the back and in 4 days many small spots came on the top and the sides of my head. I am loosing hand fulls of hair like crazy. How long did it take before you lost as much as you did? I have not found anything on the time it takes before ill have to buy a wig. Ya I have tricare too, thanks for the tips.

  • Hello, my heart goes out to you, my daughter is 25 and for the first time developed Alopecia, she started loosing her hair on new years eve.. within three weeks 80% of her hair was gone. I know what you mean about the doctors, she was tossed around like know one cared, Monique (my daughter) is great. It's not easy for anyone to have this disease. keep strong. She will be getting treatment in Toronto, it's called diphencyprone, read up on it, maybe it can help you, it's better than the needles

  • @TheNinawitteveen .hi sorry to hear about your daughter. i hope all goes well with the treatment.. i looked into this treatment but dont like the idea of getting a skin rash due to it.. have you tried chinese herbs? you should look up a product called Sheng Fa tablets.. these are natural chinese herbs..the chinese medical practicioners believe alopecia is caused by poor blood nutrition due to kidney and liver deficiency.. apparantley they work well in china for skin disorders..

  • It's not very nice being bald, I'm a male and suffer all the same, but obviously it's harder for a woman. People can be patronising and nasty and the shame stays with us for years. I get silly comments like, why don't you shave it all off.

  • Hi this is my very first time to comment so hope i get this right, thanks for posting your video diary on you tube as i have just returned from a fantastic weekend with alopeciasupportireland with young and old, , I have had alopecia for 4 yrs I am male and found it difficult to accept as everyone said it's easier for a guy but I disagree its difficult for us all.I have to admire your honesty and hope more people from all over the world will make contact my name is Shane from Dublin Ireland

  • It really is frustrating and disheartning when someone who is suppose to be helping you with your condition behaves so unsympathetic. I would definitely try to change providers. Try to speak wiith your tricare office about that. Alopecia is a painful for many of us. I agree getting a hair replacement is not vanity it is a way of maintaining some normalcy and for many of us a piec of mind. By the way I love your wigs they look so natural where do get them.

  • It is very devastating for a woman to have hair loss, or to have alopeica. It seems like when you see it in a man, its like, "oh well", but to a woman, it's so painful.

One thing, my Dr never tells me it won't grow back. I think he knows it will never be the same, but why add insult to injury. I would think your Dr. would at least say, "well, we never know, it might one day", and its not a lie. How do we know, it won't?

Wish you well. I had to cut up my posts, to 3 p-arts. sorry!

  • went to dermatologist a year ago, he tells to use Rogaine for MEN ,2x a day, every day, he says it does grow back. to use a shampoo that has salicylic acid in it to remove the the sebum that clogs the pores. saw palmetto is one of the main ingredients in the solutions to apply on scalp.. Bought on ebay Nutrafolica for hair regrowth. I use same brand shampoo, 2x week. & Folicure shampoo .

  • Hi there, I came upon your video because I have been reviewing a bunch of wigs, trying to decide what to buy, what style, etc.

I don't have Alopecia, but for about more then 1 yr. my hair has been falling out, to where I think it has to be at least half of what I had before. My hair has always been fine, but I guess I had enough because combing my hair everyday,. My hair has been falling out for 1 yr. You can see my scalp thru my hair so I have to work with it to try cover up. cont. below

  • I've had alopecia areata for 2 years now. My last trip to the dermatologist i told him that i'm done. I'll just be bald. Its so frustrating!!! The thing i tried that seemed to work is the 15% Minoxidil solution, you can buy that on amazon.com for around $40. My dermatologist subscribed me Selenos shampoo, clorbetalsol cream, 2 capsules to take by mouth that made me feel terrible. If i can find the names of those i will post them. I also had the injections into the scalp which seem to work

by the way, youre a beautiful woman , so keep your head up.

  • Hey Myshellybell

Even tho you have Alopecia, i think your pretty hot.

Shame this happens to people :(

  • I have AA,andI am currently going through another loss period. About 2 years ago I lost 45-60% of my hair and it grew back, it took a long time and was awkward as there were little short bits. I had great hair again for maybe six months? and have noticed the shedding and new wee spots again in the last month. I did not use any treatments it just grew back itself and the reason for the re-loss? no idea.

    Keep sharing your journey !

  • hi again, Don't listen to Doctors and internet they are negative a** holes!. As I say I've met loads of people who have fully recovered from Alopecia. Check out Gail Porter on youtube, she has fully recovered from AU. I think you have an inspirational attitude and you are gorgeous no matter what. Try anti anxiety tablets to relax you. Its the anxiety that's causing it. a negative cycle. I really hope you beat this. keep positive, relax and all the best x marty

  • hey i have hairloss too but mens hairloss so its different since you got Alopecia Areata i have a friend who has/had it he tried a home remedy rubbing onion juice on your head , its a pain in the ass but it works!! try it

by the way your gorgeous and embracing it is #1

Have lost about 80% of my hair, they are visible erganske naa: (

please let me know what treatment you received if you had hair back, unless you still lose? thanks

  • @Dizayee09 i have got some new growth with the Clobex. the frontline of my hair is SLOWLY growing back but its a start. still waiting on more growth.

  • hey doll:) subscribe to my channel. i have had alopecia for about 7 years now. im 19 now.

  • thanks for understanding my frustration guys. Gotta keep fighting the good fight.

  • As a sufferer of Alopecia universalis, I get so damn tired of hearing the word "COSMETIC"!! Is is so frustrating that insurance companies can deny something that is so distrauting particular for a female! And we have to spend so much money out of our own pocket because the insurance companies can dictate what we can and cannot do! Hang in there hon~

  • Aww that damn doctor. I guess it kind of does depend on the gender. Guys just don't really understand =]

I'm glad I have a female doctor. She's very understanding and helpful. And she actually cares about it because I believe her mom also has alopecia so it affects her personally. That's probably why she's so understanding.
