  • Beautiful

  • i want one of these, really bad, if i got one would be content in a 29 gallon if hes the only fish along with bottom feeders?

  • @3056398

This Cichlid can grow to a length of 20 to 25 cm.

The Tank size must be at least 90 UK gallons.

It go's along whit most African Synodontis species.

Especially the ones out of lake Malawi and Tanganyika.

  • @3056398 nope, min size tank is well really a 75. dont know if thats 90 UK. but 75 gallon. got 1 male 2 females here. great fish!

  • It's from Oliver Shanti. song is "Rainbow Way"

  • Great Fish!, Could you please tel me what the song is ?

  • Hey, cool fish. What's the name of the song?

  • My favourite cichlid !

  • amazing.. i have 6 juvenile blue ahlis.. about 1.5"... hope they get pretty as yours...

  • idk if mines female or male they say female has less blue color than male. But my fishs nose isnt as pointy as this one shown here. and not the yellow fin. Mine has like white dots on its fin.

  • There are about 10 different geographic variations of the Sciaenochromis fryeri.

There is indeed a variant that that has flatter nose, and with different colors on the anal fin.

The females can be gray or light brown of color.

  • @Traxxas1992

I think you have the Sciaenochromis ahli.

Don't mistake this with the the old name Haplochromis ahli for the Sciaenochromis fryeri.

  • So do you have a spot where i could camp out in front of that AWESOME tank? hahahahaha!!

  • will this fish do good in a 60 gal tank with others and wont be to aggressive, and how big do they get?

  • This Cichlid can grow to a length of 20 to 25 cm.

The Tank size must be at least 90 UK gallons.

  • @J22R22 Sometimes is hard to tell which Electric Blue Hap you getting because there so many different kinds. I have this one here and I don't consider it aggressive at all. Usually the dark rich blue males are the most aggressive.

  • That cichlid is beautiful. I just got me one of those. But hes a pussy. and doesnt eat much. Man i hope he dont die on me.

  • They need a big tank, at least 150 gallon.

Don't put him between to many Mbuna's or big predators.

My be he just needs to adjust at his surroundings.

  • Yup that was exactly what he needed, he was really shy at first. But now he has confidence, and he rules over my 55 g. Hes the meanest one in my 55g. I tryed putting him in my 30 gallon. But my kenyi and auratus started attacking him so i pulled him back out and into the 55, where hes the toughest one in there.

  • Good to here that he his feeling well now

  • I made a little mistake.

The tank size must be at least 90 UK gallons.

    Thats about 400 liter.

  • @AquaMalawi Mine isnt in a 150gallon tank and its fine. He is alone though.

  • Normally they will NOT cross breed with peacocks.

But I have seen some strains cross breeding in the last 15 jears.

This only happens when you only keep a male of one sort and a female of an other species for a long time.

So normally they dont cross breed with peacocks.

  • that sucks. Ey man do u think Electric blue hap, and A green terror, can be good tank mates ?? Theyre both hella aggressive, I wanna put em togheter but i hope they dont kill each other. that would be a waste of money.

  • how big is the blue in ur vid, and also what do u feed it, its huge?

  • It's only 17 cm.

I feed Cichlid pallets, Krill, Artemia, Mysis.

  • wonderful looking tank, beautiful fish!

i'm mastering the art of managing a 30G right now, I've got 5 Malawis and some barbs. I hope to soon upgrade to a 125G when i save up the money

  • I hope you get the 125 gallon thank soon.

How bigger how better for the cichlids.

  • I notice that they are not chasing each other around the tank. How do you manage this?

  • My aquarium has lot of hiding places in de back and a larch swimming place on the foreground.

And I have species that can tolerate eats other.

Also I have the benefit of a large aquarium of 660 litres (160 cm long, 60 cm water level and 70 cm deep)

  • It's a question of balance.

The right species with the right species and not to many or to moths.

And how bigger the Aquarium tank, how more peas full they are to eats other.

  • The fryeri are not as agressive as the Ahli they sale under the same name at Petsmart. Beautiful fish.

  • They can be very shy when they are capped between to mats Mbuna like Metriaclima sp.

  • don't you just hate when someone says "can i ask you a question" knowing they are going to ask you anyway? so pathetic!!

  • Hate? No, peace man.

  • beautiful fish by the way ;-)

  • Thanks!!

  • en effet un tres beau male !

  • beutyful ahli cichlide you got there

  • ur fish is amazing how big is it???

  • He is about 17 cm.

It can grow up to 20 cm

In very big tanks (say about 1000 litres or bigger) it can grow up to about 25 cm.

  • whoa, he looks huge in vid(looks 25-30cm in video) , i have one similar size i guess, i will post a vid of mine soon, what is the tank size, mine are in 5ft
