Today I saw this very bothering yet very precious footage.
I have seen footages of POWs of different nationalities displayed, humiliated and spitted on. It was very cruel yet the hatred was justified.
The winners take all and the losers have to swallow.....whatever they have to swallow.
One thing I am very sure is: there will never be peace on this earth, wish may you all.

These obviously captured German army men suffered what their leaders should have and which some did but only at the end of the war. However, at least they didn't linger in pow concentration camps like the poor millions of soviets did under the nazis, until they died of hunger and exposure.
In either regime whether under Stalin or Hitler, captured soldiers died terrible deaths.

This looks more like the Germans are being paraded around as captives and are eventually executed by the Russians. I could be wrong but the uniforms on those captured looks almost like like Wehrmacht, and the uniforms on the guards doesn't look like that of the Wehrmacht. There's also something at the end of the clip which mentions 1946.

I had 4 years of German classes, I bought German clothes, hair-style, shoes + used luggage. 1st 3 months I stayed a Guest Haus in Hamm + only spoke German. Did "reds" really do this to surrended POW's?...All of them were soldiers in the Heer, except one that was a Waffen SS soldier...Besides, being hanged was considered a dishonor in the German Army (that's the way thieves must die, not soldiers). They made them walk along the streets gathering more and more people just to watch them being executed....Damned Commies!

It can be any time since 1941 to 1946. They continuously found German spies during the war and they had the same destiny. The film shows trams running it could be already in April of 1942 when trams stoped since the 12 of December 1941. At the end there is an inscription "Execution took place on the 5-th of January 1946" But there were only 8 persons hung.

@ss90ss444 But there were a lot of German war prisoners. They worked on constructions all over Russia since June 1945. Some of them were killed, some of them died, some were returned back in 50-th - 60-th according to international agreement.

It's interesting... except for the uniforms, the Russian soldiers and the Germans look the same. The Germans are just in a lot worse physlcal condition and their uniforms are all torn up.
The hanging at the end was inhumane. Why hang them?
