Ever wonder why they don't televise the halftime show live?? Actually sounds Awesome headphones help quite a bit .. I could list some technical reasons why the sound is not so great .. but seriously headphones will help!! Also .. notice there is little or NO GUITAR in the mix .. just imagine how amazing it would be with some instruments added to the mix!!!!

What? he doesn't move anyone! Everybody feels awkward thinking if he is singing right or turned off by how he sounds. That last part with the high scream was the best. But really WTH happened to him?! he used to get the loudest reaction everytime. Now if he doesn't get booed is an improvement! While watching him on the show I always thought he was a great element of season 10, but he is not representing, this is not pleasant to watch. Or the one at the falcons game. Better luck next time.

@halabrdave I am a HUGE fan of James, and I too was worried at a few of the first performances after Idol as an independent artist, but I think it's just a case of a new band getting the feel of working together, and James getting his feet wet in front of a camera without being groomed by Idol professionals. Check out his soundcheck at Walmart.com. They whole band played several songs and they rocked!! Also, their performance on Conan O'brien killed it! He's in his zone again!.

Hate all you want, JAMES DURBIN ROCKS and THE BAND IS AWESOME. It's sooooo hard because of the open space of an stadium which doesn't help with accoustic at all to SOUND THIS GOOD. And they did sound GREAT!!! Plus, for a rock album JAMES is selling very, very well, his vid is on MTV top 10, record of ITunes download in his category alongside Daughtry and he's just starting his career now.I'm sure the more they gig LIVE and play together, THE BETTER THEY ARE GOING TO BE!

I was @ Durbin Day. Same outdoor conditions, On the beach in Santa Cruz. BIG difference. James is uniquely talented vocally and gifted in many ways. Check out a study of his vocal range - for example. If the reader hasn't explored James Durbin, his talent and singing history', please don't judge one windy performance and think you know enough to post with authority on the subject. If you're just posting to vent some pent up venom that's your bad. Thanks.

Candlestick Park is for watching sports, not concerts, anyone in the Bay Area knows this. As a baseball field, the stadium was best known for the windy conditions, damp air dew from fog & chilly temperatures. The wind often made life difficult for outfielders trying to catch fly balls, as well as for fans. The winds are intense in the immediate area of the park. So in '66 the Beatles performed, the Stones in '81 & Van Halen in '88, Where else would hold that many people then. I was @ Durbin Day.

@colaskater I CHALLENGE you to view his live performances on American Idol via youTube. You'll see why people LOVE this guy! This was a hard venue for a new band/artist to play, due to many conditions THAT DAY. His first performance on Idol in the top 13 was a cover song by Judas Priest. Steven Tyler FREAKED! He was so amazed! The whole sentence was one long beep! Randy Jackson screamed "Durbin Rocks!" at the end of EVERY rock performance he did! Please, in fairness, check it out?
