dft: True, these guys were innovators and started in the church, but I think it's important to end in the church too. No doubt they changed music. James brought a level of conciousness to the black race through his music, and Sam was awesome also. But so many start in the church, and as Marvin says," a gift without the giver is like a love without a lover". It's great to change music, but it's better to change someone's life to see God in a new way.
