I am a New Yorker, but I love Chicago-style pizza. Nothing taste better. I was lucky enough to have Pizzeria Uno for a little while in the City, but even those are closing or closed. I might even move to Chicago to get more of the best pizza I have ever tasted. And I saw Mark Malnati on the Travel Channel; he was so charismatic that he should have his own show. And I won't even start about his pizza dessert . . . to die for, literally. :-)

But its different dish, so no point to compare it to a real pizza. personally i think Malnati's is overrated,the sauce always comes out tasting uncooked and dont like the chunky tomatos in it. I'm a big fan of a place called Wapaghettis, they got a few in the surrounding chicago area.

Not sure if everyone here realizes this or not, but this guy (Mark Malnati) is pizza royalty in Chi-town. There are 3 Chicago-style pizza kings in the windy city - in no order, Malnati's, Gino's East, and Giordano's - each different, each delicious.

This guy knows his stuff - again, he is royalty here.

Also, for the do it yourselfers out there, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE know this. If you try to make this at home, you HAVE to have the right dough - store bought will NOT work. It will taste awful

@dman0624 Well, for sure, do NOT buy the premade grocery store pizza crust. It tastes exactly like a pilsbury biscuit that has been flattened out. Dreadful. There are a bunch of websites and videos that will show the steps to making the dough from scratch - flour, salt, yeast, water, sugar, oil. And don't waste your time with the packets of pizza dough mix - I swear to you you will never ever come close to duplicating the taste of Chicago deep dish with that crap!
