I swear I've heard this on some movie! From 5:20 on reminds me of something that I can't think of! I heard this on WDAV 89.9 the other day and I can't remember what movie I'm thinking of. Or maybe it's a different song but sounds similar. I'm thinking in the beginning credits to something...anyone know what I'm talking about?
When I listen to this I am overwhelmed with sentiments of loveliness and joy. I feel compassion for all living things, and want that all sentient beings feel the love radiating from my aura. It is as if a blanket of ethereal bliss is wrapped around me by an angel and I am instantly transported to an enchanted adolescence in which we all live amongst the tree tops of a magical forest, and we ride dragons, and phoenixes through out the starlit night sky... As if we were playing on constellations!
I don't know the piece so you fooled me!!! I hate people that get Sooooo dam over critical! The performance was amazing... The harp player was conducting and that was cool! She is very beautiful also... Soo is the violin girl! Where was this performed and who are the players??? A chamber group asked me to play this piece with a conductor and I don't know how I feel... It's chamber music... Ps I play clarinet
Intense ensemble! Who cares about the slips! I envy the audience present, and to hear the harp in this venue must be pure ecstacy. When Stravinsky was asked what Ravel piece he most liked he didn't say Daphne and Chloe - with conviction he said ' Introduction and Allegro.'
A few missed notes on the harp, the cellist had a misstep initially, and the strings weren't prominent enough, but, overall, just exquisite. Thank you so much for doing great justice to this incredibly lush and gorgeous piece -- one of my all-time favorites. :-)
i agree with many commenters. This music is so optimistic and has a simple and pure nature. We need more music like this. It is not dark, tragic or over-emotional, but is full of the most wonderful colours; marvelous writing for the harp. I think that there is a wrong note in the first entry of the cello as I recall.
I've played this piece several times, and I've no words to describe my feelings. This music goes beyond from the concept of beauty, this music is life itself.

Whenever I want to listen to Ravel's 'Intro' I return to this post. The performance and acoustics are great. Perfect for Ravel.

the cello solo is WRONG!! 1:08
he is reading it as if its in tenor clef, sorry its in bass and those are not the right notes.
on the bright side, it didnt affect the beauty of this recording

Yes, I hear the missteps as do the other commentators (its LIVE!) but it is overall wonderful to hear this piece in such a live acoustic space!

Interprétation vraiment très sympathique malgré cette étrange fausse note à 01:10 répétée en 01:17.

I entered the first three bars of As Time Goes By on Melodyhound.
Result? Ravel's Allegro. Hmmm.
