Notice how Chun-Li switched out, but her theme was still playing. A character has to get KO'd in order for it to change. The character that takes the place of his/her defeated partner will now have his/her theme play in the background. Now, if the character that jumps in for their defeated partner already has his/her theme playing in the background, it will continue.

Chris' theme plays when he jumps in, but the sound of the action is so loud, it can barely be heard.

@AgentSpiral I disagree w/most of what you wrote here. First of all, no more SF characters please. With such a limited roster, other franchises need recognition. Two SF characters is enough. Besides, Vega and Blanka? Yuck and double yuck. Jill was already in MvC2 so no to her as well. Oh and Chris Redfield>Leon any day of the week. I'm hoping for Wesker. Also I don't want both Venom AND Green Goblin. Spider man and one villian is enough. As for X-Men, no more than 3. Roster is just too limited.

@MachineHead155 Keep in mind that this is a game in progress. The graphics aren't at what they will be when this is finished. They'll have a much larger roster in the final product. Plus the developers said that they do like the idea of secret characters and dlc. But I do agree with you though there should be a balanced set of characters for each mascot.

@sunchips18 Yes I understand the roster will be bigger than it is now. I'm just going by Seth Killians "over 30 characters" goal. I'm expecting 32 but even if the final product comes out to 38 or even 40, that's still quite a bit limited compared to MvC2's 56 character roster. Not that I'm complaining. I'd rather have a balanced 32 character roster than an unbalanced 56 one where only 8 characters are actually playable.

@Carl7119: You can see Marvel vs. Capcom 3 based on Tatsunoko vs. Capcom pretty damn heavily. But the change of button layout to Marvel vs. Capcom 2's setup may change the combo system slightly. I'm not 100% sure. I guess we'll have to see :)
