Indeed there were some SS's made with the bench seats. This one has the split bench seat option and column shifter (like mine does). I bought my 88 new back in 87, so I know for a fact that the SS's did come with the split bench seat option.

This is a beautiful car I have one myself but Only its a 1985 monte carlo ss....I know what they are talking about when they say this is not a real ss...My ss have the shifter in the middle along with bucket seats your ss have the shifter on the steering column so that means you have a Ls converted into a ss....Oh well they both look nice you cant tell from the outside

@wright1baby There were some 88's produced with bench seats and column shifters not many ....I believe there were only 19,000 SS produced and sold as 88's.....all were made in 1987. This car does have a lay down style rear spoiler which was only available in 1988.....so I would say its a true SS the only way to really tell is the VIN number the 8th place over has to be a "G" if that is there then its a true SS. As far as the car...nice paint job.....wheels to big for my taste, but still nice!
