For those who don't understand this comment, WMG (Warner Media Group) silenced the sound track to this video, which included a legitimate copy of "Sultans of Swing" by Dire Straits, without providing any mechanism for getting the permission they demand, which I would have been willing to pay a reasonable fee for.
Ah, this is beautiful, well done. The city that I'm from.
I would recommend to everyone a film called "Russian Arc". The whole film takes place inside the beautiful Hermitage and is shot in one continious shot/take. It will take your breath away.
WHOW !!Thanks for your contribution,in showing the World..the "sublime" Repository of European Culture!nothing, such like,in Versailles,Belvedere,Prado,or the Bragging Buckingham,Dupes..! At least, the Russians, didnn't have to "steal" a countries "culture" like the British "Elgin" from the Acropolis..!!!-Excellent stuff !!!
hey, I like "Sultans of Swing", interresting chois for the video of Hermitage ;) Do you have something like that for " yantarnaya komnata" in Yekaterinenskiy dworez? hehe
Enjoyed views of Hermitage. My son is currently their with his High School orchestra attending a festival so I was interested to see what some 'sights' he might also be enjoying. I also had to turn down the sound (wrong choice of music for the images). For a hint, check out the 4 videos of Peterhof also here on youtube.
Well, Strauss and Rachmaninoff are certainly nice accompaniments for pictures of Russian palaces, but my choice of "Sultans of Swing" is meant as a little bit of a reminder of how they came about - the Czars did live like Sultans, with all that entails. Granted, soundtracks are very personal choices, and you're not the first person who didn't like this one, but I'd be curious what your son thinks.
Good job. Was in St. Petersburg a year ago. Wow...absolutely amazing. The Russian people are wonderfully cultured. I put together a few videos Russia also.
Glad you liked the pictures, sorry the music's not to your taste -- other people have liked it. Perhaps you could turn the sound off and try it again?

It's not that I don't like the music itself, but at a different time in a different setting. Please, don't misunderstand
