I did the same with my machine... its a BIG 0.049 liter Husqvarna and it went a lot faster and easier than that. But unfortunatly, you need to have other skills then pressing on the gas pedal to use it. Its not the size of the engine, its how you use it. But, thumbs up for the engineers. They did build one hell of a truck. To bad people dont know what to use it for.
I have done the same thing with my previous F350 TurboDiesel, a hawse of a truck BUT you are still talking about SHOCK force. ITs not a pulling power issue nor. THe truck, as many others, have enough power it usually will loose traction. Its the sudden jerk/shock force that will do damage....
obviously never pulled with a chain, who the hell waits till theres 2 feet of slack nd pops the chain when they floor it, and why from the front?.....he doesnt have a hitch.
@SAVILLEable the front of the truck is heavier so its fine to tow from the front actually better in this case so it and he tried with the chain tight and it didn't budge
@nachos1990 yea but common sense says that that thing easily could've snapped, its a chin, not strap and it cant flex like other materials. All in all its just inexperience
@rsswga No the reverse gear is a taller gear than first gear, a lot more torque. Plus you wont risk having your back tires lifted off the ground if the tree was really stuborn.
@BBTthetank my 83 the reverse has alot less torque than my 1st and if you know how to hook up a stump you wont lift the tires. Ive only worked for logging crews for 5 years, so take it if you want to.
@stumpaway, you're full of it. Of course you want to promote stump grinding. I've done it myself for no where near $50. What a retard. So the guy pulled a tree down with his truck? Get a life.
Should have cut it down, and called someone with a stump grinder, and grind the stump! Now you made a big mess and a big hole in your yard! And now you've got a big stump that will need to be hauled off!!! And now you'll need to fill in that big hole too! Stump Grinding is cheap and the professional way to dispose of unwanted stumps!
I own a stump grinding business you ass hole! That stump would've only been $50.00 to grind, and if you have tore up that truck, you would've spent way more that that!
Just for future reference, use a strap between the hooks at the front, then connect the chain to the strap, then to the object, it'll save wear and tear on your truck.
The only tree a ford is ripping out is a dead one.

That hole in the ground is alot easier to fix than getting the stump out after you cut the tree down.
I bet you are glad you did it this way now.
tommylord 2 weeks ago
@tommylord Yeah or fill it with loam and hydroseed it....dumbass.
