I like this the way it is. I wouldn't want to hear it sampled in a rap song. I think black people need to start playing instruments again and not just sing and rap. Their influence shook music up with early rock and blues and bands branched off. But music is stagnating now and rap is a dead end street like disco.
Its funny you said that because most of the producers that change these songs into beats are not black. whatever sells, sells. and so far raps been around longer than disco
That is a valid point. I am not meaning to sound racist, but if you go back and listen to Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, or even Ike Turner (god rest his wife-beating soul) you might find a spark there that may not have been a true revolution of music but certainly hasn't been matched. Disco died not only because it was irritating to some people, but because the scene it was associated with was decaying. Rap has stayed fresh but how long can we listen to rappers boasting about money and cars?
Very true not many people can match the skills of those artists. but rap has a few shinig stars that dont rap about women money and drugs. if your interested in all different types of music i have started a facebook page with different peoples misic tastes on it, for some reason im interested in what kind of music you listen to. But for the most part i agree with you Just like hip hop rap is slowly dying. check out rappers like Braille, Akrobatik, lupe fiasco, and supernatural
Its crazy when u think of where a lot of samples come from thats why u can never confine yourself to one genre of music, Dilla and Busta's version of this is crazy!
I always like to give respect to the original, but this is Dilla we are talking about. he made it even better in my opinion.

I love the bassline.
I'm trying to learn how to play it on the guitar.

this is what we mean when we say dillas beats are "raw" it takes more talent to do what dilla did than to rap over the "a milli" beat.
