  • If you like tiling, try xmonad. It's fairly easy to work xmonad into gnome as your WM.

  • @LantherZero

I've tried xmonad, wmii, awesome etc. They're ok, but I like the floating ones better. :)

You should know that the tiling window manager also have support for floating windows (at least in awesome, which I use).

You don't have title bars though, but you can define applications which are forced to float.

  • @keeperofdakeys

I know. :) But its only like 1 out of 10 times I use the Grid function, so a tiling WM would just make my productivity a pain in the ass. :P

Your used to a floating window manager, so that only feels natural. It takes some time to get used to tiles (I still haven't fully), but I find them quite useful.

Another things about tiling window managers is they tend to have no independent configuration utilities, so they are a bit harder to use, but what they lack in gui config they make up for in extensibility.

  • What is the theme GTK? and metacity and........ wallpaper? xD

    thanks...

  • I added some links in the description. I cant post stupid links cuz of some anti-spam reasons I guess. :)
