Your used to a floating window manager, so that only feels natural. It takes some time to get used to tiles (I still haven't fully), but I find them quite useful.
Another things about tiling window managers is they tend to have no independent configuration utilities, so they are a bit harder to use, but what they lack in gui config they make up for in extensibility.
If you like tiling, try xmonad. It's fairly easy to work xmonad into gnome as your WM.

I've tried xmonad, wmii, awesome etc. They're ok, but I like the floating ones better. :)

You should know that the tiling window manager also have support for floating windows (at least in awesome, which I use).
You don't have title bars though, but you can define applications which are forced to float.

I know. :) But its only like 1 out of 10 times I use the Grid function, so a tiling WM would just make my productivity a pain in the ass. :P
