I don't know about gay, but definitely not white. According to Wikipedia, they are a Latin dance/disco band. The guy states in youtube video (The "Get Off" Story) that they were into women.

However, I did find it difficult to believe that men are really singing the bridge and chorus. I looked up the credits and saw that "background vocals" were by someone called Wildflower. These guys could well be the ancestors of the worlds most famous lip-sync-ers Milli Vanilli.

Use to be a video with Foxy and female background singers performing this tune, but sadly it's no longer on Youtube.
