我從來就不覺得西方人有特別好，但他們有一點是我相當佩服的，那就是他們敢批判、敢認錯、敢改進。再說到十九世紀的黑奴問題，老美當然清楚，但他們不是一味地消極逃避，而是面對現實的去解決，雖然中間還引起內戰，但至少是真的的有進步，所以今天歐巴馬的當選，不只是有黑人，也有很多白人支持他，這和十九世紀比起來，不也算是一種連步嗎?

在民主方面我是对台湾如今的局面还是不错的，虽然我不是台内的人可能不了解你们，但你们是在走了民主的道路给对岸的我们有个学习的模范，然而我们都想去改变但你们知道的，我们的力量很小（人民），连最基本的游行，结社，等等都是违反的，有很多例子有很多人都被偷偷的被警察请去了"喝茶"，在我们这里只有官员代表我们的一切。

Overall, this is sad. I don't care how any person tends to look at it. Every country has made their mistakes in the past. And yes, as we move on year after year, we still have to learn how to get along and how to make things better for ourselves and our children. We're not perfect, but we grow and learn from these horrible situations and more and learn so we can try to gain an understanding on how to make a better world for the generations to come.

Besides, the children get a break from the parents that sold them--as if they want to return home! What a nice conversation that would be!! It's better to stay a slave and help one's country grow. Look into this issue - there are young girls taken for the sex trade also because the girls are often killed so when brides are needed they are stolen.
