@claudioagmfilho hey, yes you should take your USMLE Step 1,2,3 before you apply for residency in the U.S. When you match in the U.S., you unfortunately would have to start from internship again, but at least you'll be a pro by then! :)

hello, I am a junior in high school and I want to be a pediatrician. I want to know how many year of school you've gone through to be what you currently are. What do I need to get into medical school. Will they look at what I've done while at school or do they care about my grades and GPA and test scores. u shud aim for as close to a 4.0 to as possible in HS. i've heard anything less than a 3.5 in college would make it hard for u to get in to med school. goo luck.
hello. 4 years of undergrad (any major), 4 years of medical school, then 3 years residency for pediatrics. U.S. Allopathic Medical Schools that grant the M.D. do not look at HS grades, only your undergrad GPA and MCAT. the name Gorostiza was not given by Spain to filipinos. (Catálogo alfabético de apellidos) so Dr. Jay's claim has some validity. he could really be 1/4 (or less) Spanish.

No I'm not FP, but FP residents work very hard, too! :) I've been on 30-hour call every 4th night on tough rotations like MICU and Surgery, working 80 hours/week since November, but you MAKE the time to exercise, eat healthy, and say Hi to family/friends even if it's a short email or call, which they will appreciate a lot! :)

his nationality is obviously American.
his ethnicity is filipino with mix of Basque.
the name Gorostiza was not given by Spain to filipinos. (Catálogo alfabético de apellidos) so Dr. Jay's claim has some validity. he could really be 1/4 (or less) Spanish.

History factoid: During the period after the First Carlist War in Spain (1833-1839), there was a new wave of Basque settlement in the Philippine Islands. Many ventured beyond Manila to places like Laguna and Batangas. These Basque businessmen had surnames: Zubiri, Matia, Menchacatorre, Aldecoa, GOROSTIZA, Menchaca, Eguiluz, Aristegui, Laucirica, Inchausti, Azcona and Nessi-Arrola. My great grandpa Don Pedro de Gorostiza of Laguna was one of them and he is 100% Basque.

No I'm not FP, but FP residents work very hard, too! :) I've been on 30-hour call every 4th night on tough rotations like MICU and Surgery, working 80 hours/week since November, but you MAKE the time to exercise, eat healthy, and say Hi to family/friends even if it's a short email or call, which they will appreciate a lot! :)

haha, I'm VERY proud of my Filipino culture and blood...but being Spanish is not a claim, it's a fact, lol...my maternal great-grandpa (Don Vicente Gorostiza) is Basque. Search my cousin on youtube Fiona Gorostiza (newsreporter) and she shows our Spanish side more 'phenotypically,' lol :)

...names, as a result. They, however, still speak Spanish and have kept more of the Spanish culture than the Filipinos, so i don't know what you're talking about. The Filipinos have a rich culture. The Philippines has 7,100 islands, of which many of them basically have their own dialects, cultures, and foods. If you step out of your little world, you will hopefully find this out.
