I think its funny that the only reason people come here is for the balloon fiesta . . .and I can tell you that there is so much stuff here that is better than the fiesta
do u still live there? trust me, u move away 2 another more bland city, abq may/ will haunt u. u may miss the flvour n uniqueness of abq desperately. special southwestern vibe....
im going to ABQ for the summer! ive been away for two years or school and now i get to visit the hometown!!!! my family members are telliim not gonna recognizee somethingss!!!!
My friends and I used to love rock climbing in the Sandias. My one friend lived near the mountains, and we would always climb the boulders. Very VERY fun. Oh and did you know, that Sandia means Watermelon in spanish? They were named that because they turned pink at sundown and sunrise ^_^. I lived in ABQ for four years, but then I moved :(.
I really enjoyed your video. I especially liked the Sandia Tram part and the music score. Im in my late 50's and thinking of retiring, but not sure Albuquerque is high on the list of retirees in this country. Im not so sure Florida would suit me, but ABQ seems to. Anyway enjoyed all the scenes of your city and hope life is good for you there.
i am nearing 50 my husband is 58, we are here in albq for five years, i dont think this is the ideal place to retire. the one thing is the great weather though. not to harsh in the winter and not to hot in summer. pleasent change of season. sure beats florida by a long shot and deff beats california. unless ya can afford the santa barbara area. cant go to the store without being hit up by beggers here though.
We are early retirees looking to relocate because I have awful back paind and chronic sciatica. We've never been in winter. How much trouble is the snow? Besides beggars [LOL--we live in New Orleans--only way is up on that front], what might not make it a good place to retire?
Parker right now, I am missing New Mex. alot, Check out my Vlog #4 it has my art work of a little Church I used to go too also, have yu Seen That church in Golden New MExico? Parker I can Turn you ONto lots of Cool places! I used to drive there all the time! I saw alot of New mex. and It was great!! have yu seen, THe big Rock There out at? "cabezon"
That's cool. I think I must make a lousy New Mexican -- I'm not really the outdoorsy type. I've seen some of the sights in the ABQ/Santa Fe vicinity but haven't done much exploring beyond that really. This is such a beautiful part of the country and it's wasted on a computer nerd like me! ;-)
Thanks for all the names of places to see though, I would like to get out and find them sometime.
better yet parker, Look Tent rocks up on the Internet, and I bet also if yu See some old Magazines of New mex. they will have Pictures of it. Kasha Katuwe, you pay when you park your Car there, plus Take a lunch with you, NO food out there. have yu been to Cochiti lake? artistichichana
Parker I am 50 something, and WhenI lived there I never let a little Snow Get in my Way of adventure, you Gotta Grab onto the adventure while its Still there, But Yeah You Gotta See Tent Rocks, I can send yu a photo I have, Its amazing place. Go in Fall.
i still miss it there, I miss Going to Old town, and driving back near Madrid, I wish I could afford another trip up there. Keep the video's Coming and let me know When yu get a new one done. have yu gone to Tent Rocks?
YOU havent' Heard about Tent Rocks?? OH Geez parker I am Disappointed in you. LOL Its near Cochiti lake, off the road there, just drive up too Pena Blanca, and then, When yu reach the dam, slow down look for the sign Kasha Katuwe" tent Rocks. its on Private land, Turn left after u See the dam from the road. artistichicana
Albuquerque New Mexico is a wonderful place and it is like no other there is alot for everyone to do!! I luv it here and never plan on moving! to everybody in NEW MEXICO HELLO:)
Hello From a Former New mexican, Yeah I was living there two Yrs ago and I Miss it badly. My Name is Lilly and, I want to move back there. Best Chili and Sunsets its a Pretty Place to live. Keep up the Video's they are Good. Check me out, artistiChicana? on utube
I think when you grow up in a place you become complacent to its wonders and natural beauty, for example I love being in a place that it rains,The whole state of NM get about 6-8 in a yr, Dallas Fort worth gets about 36in. Nothing but nothing will ever change my mind though that NM, has the most beautiful sunsets in the world, I've seen some amazing sunsets, French Rivera,Carribean, The Alps to name a few.Anyway I love my hometown, would never want to live there again, but love it all the same!
When thinking about it, ABQ is the largest city in NM, and thus more expensive, but compare that to T or C, or Las Cruces, or Socorro, and on the whole Cali is more expensive.
Burque is my hometown, and I will always love it! I have now lived in Dallas Texas for about a year. I do prefer New Mexican food to Cali mex, and especially to Tex-Mex which tastes like soap! As far as the economic difference between the various states, yes parts of new mexico are mopre expensive, but on the whole much cheeper!
i dont think albuquerque has the BEST food, seems pretty bland compared to southern california especially with mexican food, and it can be really expensive out there too compared to cali. besides unless you like outdoors stuff albuquerque pretty much blows for younger people haha
hey man nice video of the greatest city Albuquerque,NM i am a trucker that lives in albuquerque and there is nothing like it.good music, the best food is here.....feels good to see videos of HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Yes, I moved here from Ft. Myers in 2006. It's an amazing place. Occasionally I miss the beach, but having four seasons and mountains to climb makes up for it. :-)
I used to live in Albuquerque between 1965 and 1973. I have missed Albuquerque. After living in Los Angeles for more than 25 years now, we are ready to re-settle in Albuquerque. There is no place more fascinating than this city.
Hey, I live on the west side too! Just moved down here last year and you really great job on the video. I'm happy you showed cottonwood as its a block away from my apartment ha. will be showing everone from home!
Do you live in those orange aparments where all the drug dealers live or the other apartments across the street from Cibola where all the other dealers live.
Very true. I made this video when the city was still new to me, and the title's a little bit wrong: it mostly focuses on the West Side, and even has a little Santa Fe and Taos in it. A new video, which I still need to make, would reflect the city of Albuquerque better: downtown, Nob Hill, and the Heights. But yeah, nothing south of Central. :-)
Let's see some video on the east and north side. Say, I25 and Jefferson or Paseo DelNorte. Even some Chant junk would be nice. San Mateo, Sandia crest (not peak), Eloys, ==MIMI's. Get out of the Coors area!
Good call. I had just moved here when I filmed it and needed to explore a bit. I guess I'm due for a second video now that I'm more familiar with ABQ (and I'm working in the Heights)!
this makes us look cool but sadly its pretty boring here
