  • Ok now that is confusing. Is Eli a boy in the book? Beacause she is a girl in Let the Right One In as it says it on the back of the DVD.

  • I love this fan video! The song fit this so good, you should get a job doing this your good at it,this movie is awesome

  • Man I love this damn Movie!!!!

  • Brilliant film. I loved every second of it. The relationship between Oscar and Eli is very moving. Would def reccomend this to anyone who hasn't seen it yet. P.S. Eli is not a girl but....

  • I can't help but feel that this movie would not be popular at all had they cast eli as boy like the original novel.

  • @oldVideoGamesChannel Eli IS a boy in the film. Don't you remember the scene when it shows the scar where his genitals are supposed to be? It doesn't explain it fully in the film, because the director couldn't film the scene when Eli is castrated, but you still pick up on the general idea.

  • @RealDougal uh....no.. just no, you are wrong, and even if you are right....please don't ruin the film for the rest of us.

  • @oldVideoGamesChannel I swear to whatever God/gods that exist that Eli is a boy. If you watched properly, you'd understand. I mean, what in the hell do you think that scar was about, then? Just because it's a female actress, doesn't mean it's a female character. Abby is a girl in "Let Me In", but Eli is a boy in this film.

  • Your right actually!! But that's pretty fucked up. At least in america when we changed things, we changed things for good, like abby as a girl and the guy as a boyfriend/father figure instead of a pedophile. I can relate to Let me in, but I can't relate to let the right one in, I mean how many of you guys are gay and like hanging around pedophiles? Not many!! I will never recommend this film again, stick to the american remake, thanks for opening up my eyes man!

  • @oldVideoGamesChannel No problem, but I don't think you should let it put you off the film. Personally, I don't think Let Me In holds a prayer to Let The Right One In; it's just another pointless attempt to make money on Hollywood's part. Also, I'm not homophobic, so I don't mind the "relationship" between Oskar and Eli - I mean, you have to think about it from their points of view: both were alone with no one that "really" cared about them, and then they met each other. I'm happy for them.

  • I only read the book, but I can't find the movie anywhere.Anyone can help me?

  • @superdani152003 i first saw the movie when i was browsing a movie renting place near my house. maybe you can try the same?

if not, go on youtube and see if anyone has uploaded it.

if not, i'm getting the movie, and if i ever get the time i'll put it onto youtube @_@

  • @superdani152003 netflix just sign up for a free trial leave it if you dont want to pay when trial is up great movie only thing bad about it is i havent read book but i heared that the older guy with her at first was a pedophile and it didnt show this in the movie so i thought she gos from one boy to another using them and didnt think there was a real connection but loved the movie any way found out later that wasnt the case

  • state of movies and entertainment as a whole.i constantly hear about that twilight garbage, yet ive got to find a worthwhile movie by mistake scanning through netflix at 3:00 am.now i read there is going to be an american remake, ill pass on that .heading to bn to buy the book,

  • Even though Cloe Moretz is really good looking she cant be compared to Lina Leandersson!! Her eyes are just so beautiful!!!

  • this would make the perfect trailer for the movie.

  • Stick och brinn jävla fyllskalle.

  • Such a classic. Somehow the movie was far better than the book.

  • amazing touching movie, if i could give this an award like an oscar, i would, two kids one empty, on lonly, they find each other and spark new life in one another, true love story in my mind, and i am an american, no one will touch this movie, id love to see a part two, i think i could be done

  • bestest video!!!!!represents the movie perfectly!

    congrats ;p

  • Beautiful video =)!!! I find your Let the Right One In video to be flawless in every form - You deserve a Trophy in my opinion xD - I would love to see more videos like this ~~

  • What this song ? At the beginning ?

  • I'm reading this book. It's differet, the movie leaves out some stuff but they are both beautiful.

  • Is this air? I love this book and movie so much...and people like twilight...ugh

  • yeah on of my faves off of melloncollie

  • Beatiful :)

  • this movie take the oscar ????

  • im born in the VAMPIRLAND HUNGARY---I SO LIKE THIS FILM----- 5 STAR 5FROM ISRAEL

  • This is the most beautiful vampire movie/book I have ever seen/read.

  • Odd choice. Smashing Pumpkins from the Machina I era....

  • to get this straight I freaking love this movie ans book.

but we americans have to remakes i am fine with that but there are a few flaw

    1. they changes Eli and Oskar's name to Owen and Abby

what is up with that there a tons of kids with those names

    2. They have it take place in New Mexico

The movie and book took place in a place with snow NEW MEXICO DOES NOT HAVE SNOW they could of easily have take place somwhere like Michigan

    3. the americans suck at remakes

  • @thedarknight307 Actually bud, there's tons of snow in northern New Mexico. Educate yourself before you speak.

  • Great video,And a great movie!! What program do you use to edit the videos? I so want to learn how to do this. I have windows movie maker but don't have a clue how to add video clips. Please give me a lesson!!

  • I used Adobe Premier Pro CS3. I pick a music track that fit and selected clips that suited that track. You'll need the entire movie in a format that your video editing program recognizes, just extract clips of the film and stitch them as you please syncing with the music. Good luck!

  • that was pretty cool , im reading the book now its awesome

  • Watched the movie last saturday and now I figured out there's a novel. Gonna read it as soon as I have it!! Very curious to it...

  • When I first read the book, I thought it was ... beautiful. Just beautiful. Pure, simple and beautiful. So much better than Twilight! Oskar and Eli are in love, but Bella and Edward are just ... wierd and scary!

  • Precisely. If I start hearing Twilight fans saying that the soon-to-be-released American version of let The Right One In is a rip off of Twilight, I'm gonna rip their heads off! LE THE RIGHT ONE IN is absolutely gorgeous, beautifully told, the perfect vampire love story. Twilight is a pathetic teenaged story of shallow crushes by comparison.

  • ahahahaha, I am waiting for the exact same thing. I won't even waste my breath because I know how false that is and those twattards can't recognize greatness if it hit them in the face. I think a lot of fans know about the movie but if the remake flops, it will be the perfect excuse to defend gaylight.

  • The movie is awesome but the remake might flop because the kids anmes are changed and it takes place in New Mexico but the remake director said it will be close to the original movie and book so lets keep our finger cross and hope he does not fuck up the remake

  • It won't be close to the original. Eli's gender is what Oskar mistook it for.. that takes out a very big statement. Not to mention the love aspect will be demolished and it'll be just another mediocre american horror movie. Bleh.

  • i've just finished watching it here on youtube and it was one of the best films i have ever watched.

i recommend you try watching it :)

  • Me..? I own the DVD

  • Agreed and first Twilight fans cant say it was a rip-off because i heard the book was made first and so was the movie so if they do say it was a rip-off than they are wrong because twilight rip-offed this beutiful masterpiece

  • im sorry but i must disagree, nothing is ripped off, let the right one in was written by a relativly unknown writer from sweden, because theres an influx of vampire films coming out everyones saying there ripping of one another, the characters relationships are so far apart from that of the twilights book, there nothing alike at all and marketed to a totlay different audience, nothing alike no comparison to be made except that vampires are mentioned.

  • no!!! are they really remaking it into an american film,i cant belive that, also i dont know if youve read the book but theres some serious gender issues going on and its mentioned in a very suttle way but i cant see how the hell the americans are going to touch on that??? whats the bloody point..

  • lina says hi and thanks lia

  • That book was better then Twilight

  • Normally im a guy who only watchs war movies because I hate these kind of movies but holy crap this movie was great. I just ordered it on Blu-ray and I plan to watch it alot more. Its ashame that they are making one in USA called Let me in.

  • @Finchy000 Yeah, and the translation to "let me in" completly ruins the whole point of the movie.

  • That was amazing.

  • There is no way the Hollywood movie can even touch this

  • @Caturdayz when i heard they were doing a version i struggled not to be sick at the mere thought of how badly they would destroy this work of art

  • @VonGrif

You know, I saw Let Me In, and it wasn't bad

Not nearly as good as LTROI, but not bad at all

  • i watched this film 7 times in 3 days , never before have i seen a film that made me laugh , cry ...... i cannot convey what this film means to me , it is simply amazing , just ordered the book and dvd , truly fantastic !!! buy , watch , read !!!!!!!!

  • lol, I kind of felt the same way. It was so memorizing to watch the people who played oskar and eli. For me, it was like watching some parts of my childhood. I was pretty withdrawn and fantasized a lot, although not in the manner oskar thinks about. The only thing is that I never bonded with a girl the way he did, I never let the right one in.

  • hi dude - pretty amazing - movie awesome - the book is beyond words - adds so much more with Eli and Oska - in the book things are clearer - u finally feel the loneliness, solitude and desperation of Eli. The penultimate chapter made me cry because it was about the time Eli and Oska spent together and the affection between them. U will love the book

  • This was wonderful, good job!

  • kent - Den döda vinkeln would be the perfect song to do a tribute with.

  • This movie is romantic love... can feel sad and happy if you read the novel and the movie together....bcoz Oskar can be a vampire like Eli....or a Vampire and Human in love....But this kind of love will fade.....If Oscar be a VAmpire than the happiness will go forever =] Eli Forever ^^

  • Fuck, now the book is ruined for me, I know the twist:(

  • this movie was weird as hell i didnt really enoy it but awsome tribute great job=]

  • I'm so sorry, I accidentally rated this a 1. This is honestly the best trailer I've seen for the movie, professional or otherwise. The official movie trailers don't really give you a good idea of what the film is actually about, and your video absolutely nailed it. Great job.

And I have to agree, in this case seeing the movie first is better than reading the book. They're almost completely different, but equally great.

  • Great fan vid, perfect song choice. I just recently saw this movie, love it. Can't wait to read the book.

  • In this case, I think watching the movie first, then reading the book is perfect because it gives you a visual of the settings and characters, then it fills in the rest of the gaps... have fun with the book, I read it in 5 days =) - its great!

  • Thanks. I usually find reading the book before the movie disappointing as my visualizations never match the movie version or wanting to see certain scenes that are not included. Maybe you can help me out with the book. I was looking on Amazon and the hardcover has more pages than the paperback, do you know the difference?

  • That's news to me! I've read the paperback - I hope I didn't miss anything by not getting the hardcover.

  • Don't know what I was thinking! The story's is the same, I think the difference is that with hardcover the print is usually larger... Ha, talk about brain fart =)

  • omg have just finished the book. I'm glad I saw the film first, (which I've seen about 10 times already) the book was even better and with an amazing twist which isn't in the film.

  • the book : part 1 "He had put his hand up in class, a delcaration of existence...They could give a number of reasons why they had to torment him...But the real problem was simply that he existed, and every reminder of his existence was a crime." THIS sums up the heart of the book. so brilliant!

  • Yea the fact that eli was a boy before

  • i just love this movie...and lina is so fucking amazing :)

  • this movie is a piece of art... twilight was directed and written by a vagina... not a woman... a vagina... literally

  • perfect song perfect movie im a real fan!!!

  • COOL!!! :D

  • what a fantastic movie, she has a beastly allure which makes her the epitome of death. Bravo Lina Leandersson

  • great work for a great movie ;)

  • Wow, this is better than the actual trailer! Great work!

  • twilight was a slice of dog shit

  • fuck twilight this movie has fuckin balls

  • Interesting. :)

  • Beautiful by the Smashing Pumpkins

tfarclive - beautiful piece of work - if I am ever crafting my own emotional thriller movie, you can do the trailer - and the cinamatography and the score as well.

  • what is the title of that song?

  • Fantastic film. Blows Twilight off the planet......

  • Damn right!

  • agreed

  • It has NOTHING in common with Twilight.

    Read the book.

  • It has nothing in common, but nevertheless.. as a movie it's much more better than twilight...

  • not even close...

  • i love this movie

  • awesome video. The song is perfect and the clips were well selected. I loved loved loved the book and this is one of the first times that I actually enjoyed the movie as well, which stayed true to the story. I also think that the girl, Lana, they casted for the movie made the perfect Eli!!! she fit the role perfectly!

  • Nice tribute! Please if you have the time, check out mine.

  • thats cool

  • that song is?

  • great vid.

  • i agree her eyes are so amazing and beautiful ha ha better then twilight lol imma find the book bow

  • Does anyone know the name of the song that Oskar and Eli dance after she took a bath in Oskar´s house?

  • Kvar i min bil , written and performed by Per Gessle - the guy from Roxette...

  • Her eyes are so amazing in that last scene.

  • @zizou1311

you are right, i thought the same.

  • tfarclive: this trailer is the most impressive tribute i've ever seen. done the movie 20 times, took me one week to do the book. for all you fans of this movie, the book tells you so much more than the movie. it may not have been better than the movie, but gives you a lot more info than the movie. for example, how was eli able to enter the building the swimming pool was in to save oskar? for the answer, read the book. also, how did eli become a vampire? read the book.

  • Thank you so much Im definitly reading the book now. The movie was amazing.

  • Well, in the movie it was because she'd been there before.

  • not really, because every time Eli went into oskar's apt, oskar had to invite first. Eli started to die when oskar refused to verbally give the invite, even though he gestured for Eli to come in. In the book, Eli intimidated one of the bullies and made him verbally give an invite to the natatorium. The movie simply could not give attention to all details from the novel. Get the book, you'll like it.

  • I've read the book, actually. But in the movie it was because she had already been there. Remember, right before the scene in the basement...?

  • Wow. Very, very nice video. I really liked who you included the Swedish cover to the novel at the end.

  • damn man, this's gotta be best fan-made trailer I've seen

    -

smashing pumpkins rocks! let the right one in rules!

  • very good movie!!!!

  • WHAT A BAD SONG for a brilliant film

  • What do you mean a bad song? This kind of song is something that draws you closer to the film.

  • what??? ?

  • Gotta agree...

  • Did Lina Leandersson win any awards in Europe for her performance? She is amazing in this film, all the more so considering how young she is. I look forward to her future work.

  • A Fabulous tribute to a wonderful film. :) Twilight can go suck an egg.

  • you are sort-of correct, but the tone that i'm guessing that you're implying is one that is directed towards disappointing people.

eli used to be a boy two hundred years before, but was castrated; now, he lives without gender. not a boy, not a girl, just eli.

and oskar loves him anyways. <33

  • awesome. your my hero.

  • really??? i don´t know that!!!.. well i hope that will appear in the book... thanks anyway

  • I was so immersed that when that came up it just threw me for a loop and I had to stop reading for a while.

  • so true - Eli tells Oskar many times that "I am not a girl" and he doesnt care - ELi was a boy, it is true, until his maker castrated him. The movie does show this somewhat but most people dont get it. The book is amazing and the film version is also excellent. I have seen the movie 10 times and love it. I wish I there were more, but I dont think a part two would be very wise.

  • wise or not 2dboy id still pay good money to see it

  • LOL - I suppose I would to battson123.

Right after putting this comment on youtube, I turned on the tv and the movie was on! How weird is that!

    have a good day

  • Haven't seen the film yet. Do they not make it clear that they .. y'know .. >___> cut Eli's penis off? Does Oskar not see it when they kiss or...?

I don't think Oskar was straight anyway. When he looked at the porn he didn't feel anything anyway, and he had a feeling Eli was a boy. That's why he asked his teacher if guys could fall in love.

I thought the book was UH MAI ZEENG... But apparently the film isn't very good at all.

  • its a good movie. worth watching. if you read the book, you know everything basically. depends where you watch the movie. sometimes they cut out the scene where eli is seen castrated. oskar always saw eli as a girl, no? later on he saw that eli was a boy. then again, you already read the book. movies try to stay faithful to the books so the director tried the best he could. i say it was awsome!

  • do you have any idea where I can watch it without the castration scene cut out?

  • The film is amazing as well, believe me. Such a touching and gorgeous relationship between those two. Thanks to the guy who made this tribute, helped me enjoy the film again!

  • im reading the book right now. its so much better. if i had read the book first, i would have to re-read cause i will have my own interpretation of the characters. the movie usually shows how the characters are supposed to be. with the characters in mind, i can see what the movie didnt show. which theres so much in the book! its fuckin awsome! READ IT!

THIS GOES FOR EVERYONE! READ THE BOOK!

  • I watched the movie 1st and felt this was better this way around --I would have struggled to picture Eli - but now is Lina Leanderrson. Best Book I have read in years

  • @kedwilkins

Agreed. If you'd read the book first the fact that she turns out to be a boy could be very confusing, because the girl image you created in your head for Eli isn't right anymore.

Lina gives Eli the right face. Personally I think seeing the movie first works better, while usually it's the other way around.

  • Hello Poo0112 - the film doesnt really make it clear - but if you have read the book, then you will see the scene in which they show it - it just goes by so fast that i think people who dont know what is going on just think its weird or something.

You asked if the film is any good - it is AMAZING. I read the book first, and then saw the film and I loved it. Since you loved the book, do me a favour and go see the movie. You can even find it online.

the americans r doing a version - YUK

  • I'm half way through the movie at the moment. It's okay, but I definitely prefer the book. To be totally honest, I don't think it goes into enough detail. Hakan's character isn't very well portrayed I.M.O; you don't feel the guilt he feels like in the book. He's kind of emotionless, here. And the older gang that hangs around the bars (Jocke and Locke and Virginia etc etc)...they're barely mentioned?

But I do /love/ Oskar and Eli. Oskar's SO cute.

It's a good film, I just looove the book.

  • you're right, eli was a boy, and still technically is. but he is played by a girl in the movie so people don't realize it.

  • awesome vid

  • " And I cant help but feel attached

To the feelings I cant even match

With my face pressed up to the glass,

    wanting you"

    i love that line

..because of this video i come to love this song.. Thanks:)

  • Excellent!

  • Awesome! :O

  • It's fantastic!!!! It's better than official trailer!!!

  • Heh thanks! The music track fit so perfectly

  • I agree, this video really captures the spirit of the movie a lot better than the official trailer.

  • also does anyone know the name of the song?

  • never mind found it.

  • smashing pumpkins - beautiful

  • that was really really good, 5 star.

  • Nicely done. Captures the film well. I really dig what you did with the track.

  • så fin på nåt sätt :)
