  • Okay thanks...so if we are only using hydroton and no soil, would it still be okay to put the plants in without the netting pots, or only in soil? We are doing an indoor garden with no soil.

  • @Jahrass7

Yes, without soil is the best way. I just mentioned soil because you need to wash most of the soil off before putting your plant in the Euro pot. I think that one plant per pot is the best too if they are medium to large plants like peppers or tomatoes. More than one per pot would make it too crowded. Hope this helps!

  • Thank you for this video! We are buying a Eurogrower soon and this helped us visualize alot! Question: have you ever put the plants directly in without the netting pots? For example if I wanted to put in more than one plant in each bucket? How could we do this without hurting the plant, or do you not recommend it at all?

    Thanks!

  • @Jahrass7

Thanks for the comment! Yes, you can put the plants directly in - if in soil; gently rinse off the roots and place in the Euro pot. I just used the net pots because I started them in them and I am kinda lazy! No problem experimenting with more than one plant per pot - good way for small plants or herbs.

  • do you really need that shelter screen above. ISn't that cutting out light.

  • @1982FMJ

Main purpose is to shield the plants from too much moisture from the rain - this is Seattle. Shielding from rain helps reduce chances of blight and prevents rain from diluting the nutrient solution. Actually, although it does reduce light a tad (it's clear acrylic), the shield increases heat a bit which is a plus in this area - especially for peppers and tomatoes.

  • I haven't seen a video from you in a while. It's good to see you on You Tube again. Thanks for showing the Euro Grower. I assumed the pump was always running and used drip emitters but it appears to be free flowing. Can you tell me the on and off time cycle for the timer? I'm guessing Day 15 min On - 3 hrs Off. Night 15 min On - 5 hrs Off.

  • @FenderGibsonWashburn

Hey Paul! Yeah, it's more like a top-flooding ebb & flow system. the "drippers" run 15 minutes at 3 hour intervals during the day, 0 at night. I got this system as a bonus and really like the convenience of the compact design and the simplicity of the thing. I also did a outside Ebb & Gro set-up - good results too. I'm the only one in the area with decent tomatoes and peppers this year! My neighbor's are switching to hydroponics - I think I will be busy next Spring.

  • Great video! I commented and rated THUMBS UP! Hope to see you around my channel or videos sometime! Take care!
