  • Nice boob catch at 2:16

  • wtf @ the tit grab lmao

  • LOL tit grab...

  • Did anyone saw the the girl touch her boobs?

    The OS is cool

  • @GodofAnotherWorId try elive

  • muy bueno el video jeje no sabia de la interfaz del gnu/linux =D

    saludos desde panama

  • O vídeo é muito legal!

Agora é só instalar no laptop para testar.... heheheh

    "Saluds"...

  • хуйня какая-то

  • it's a beautiful distro...and compiz wow

  • "Linux is KING!" Superb video

  • Wow... Very, very GOOD!! :D

  • Hot.

Now about E17... it takes me back... 10 years or so? about time to try it again.

  • very annoying music

  • how do i manage to install it???? i dont have any international credit cards and i can't write a topic about elive without installing it cause it is only a live cd.... is there any way to get this invitation code???????

  • you're correct, and ive been using e16 since its release w/Redhat (6.1 was my 1st) and "mdrake 7.1 helium)...well my point, is realy this.

the elive cd has us partition the HDD before it installs (or doesn't) the much needed modules.

w/out the modules (say you can't pay right now), we then get to reformat the HDD and reinstall (i couldnt remember the blocks, so /home and /etc /var, etc were lost.

i request the payment be the initial factor BEFORE the formatting of any partitions

  • @laptopdragon You are right in some point, the problem is that the instlaler-module requires to know the disk where you are going to install, this is why at the START of the installation there's a message saying that is needed to pay, this is hte first message that the installer shows when its run, so the user can cancel the process before to do any thing

  • i still prefer e16 , on Mandr(iva or ake). but this is a very entertaining video. nice work w/editing..

i lol b/c i remember playing around w/all these settings for hours (paperplane/ folds, etc)

to add, i don't think e17 is free, they request a payment (unless you write your own modules) or you write up a webpage advertising elive, there would be a lot more people using elive IF it was freely distributed, (at least 1 more person)

  • @laptopdragon first, e17 don't request a payment, just Elive. Second, do not confuse the word "free" with "open source", Elive is open source, as what you may refer... for more details see the FAQ nº1 at the Elive website

  • Song Free Electrons vol1 por Arena Of Electronic Music jamendo.com/es/album/35792 tema 1 saludos!

  • Nice video, I really have to try e17

And by the way, why is she touching her breasts at 0'46'' ? To show how great is elive ? :D

  • @RizzenVirnn That was my first thought :)))) Awesome detail!

  • nice i rely like it :)

  • Excelenteeeee!!!!!!!!! Increible!!!!!! me encanta!!

  • name of the song?

  • @panormalstate read the description of hte video

  • On the website it says that Elive Compiz is experimental. Do you think that Elive Compiz is unstable??

  • @Gurka9999 It doesn't says that compiz is integrated on the normal versions of Elive now ?

  • marry me! :o

  • @lonswolf get a prepaid debit card. thats what i did. you can get the cheaper ones for like ten bucks

  • installing rigth now xD i ever used gnome or KDE

rarely lxde it's time to try enlightenment

  • what vertion of linix is it ???

  • Elive, search Elive in google :)

  • 1000 times Thanks man

  • bled upon. Cudos.

  • That is the best gnu/linux/e17/compiz video I've ever seen. Great job not just playing music but editing as well. Hope you make more like this...I'd better check now if you did!...I also think it'd be cool if you cut some tutorials together showing how much you can do on this semi-new collection of OS.

  • wonder how much u've got to play around with KDE to get that kind of result though. Thanks god for liveCD though, certainly it looks like it's worth giving a try!

  • It is more a daily-to-use distro (in installed) than a Live system. On reality I have never played with KDE or gnome :)

  • Linux girls are sexy. :D

  • Shit ,era gukr I'm havingweiafud d a seisure asidjf hkj shf ,,/.sfd ;

  • Thanks Thanatermesis. Free Electrons in nice ;] If someone looking for music from this video. This is Razorman - Mechanical

    Arena Of Electronic Music

  • Great presentation, Where i can download music from video ?

  • in jamendo, it is called "free electrons" or something like that

  • cool.

  • why not linux tag?

  • VERY GOOD! Thanks for the cool video. :D

  • I prefer much better a linux-girl than a windows-slute-girl!...lol!

    ELIVE!!!

  • Yeeeaa e17!!!

    great movie

    greetings fromm Poland

    Linux 4Ever :D

  • :46 WTF!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • linux == smart + sexy

  • @RandomMalcolm Nice catch.

  • i know I like 0:46

  • very sexy. the girl and the os. I've been trying to get ecomorph working but it doesnt seem to like my computer. im now downloading elive. If only this vid had more footage of the hottie playing with her tits

  • I like :46 *hmmm* nice

  • 5 stars :D linux ftw

  • this is freakin´ awsome!!!

  • When about a new screencast from you?I like them so much. You make them so damn well.

  • Cute girl. Nice project. i lol'd when she groped her boob :D

  • Absolutely amazing and a really well made video :)

Really cool that it's got it's own special build too... suddenly I am interested in Enlightenment again! :o

  • This is probably the best Linux Distro I've come across, it truly is hot enough to make any MacOS user envious and would gladly contribute financially to your work Thanatermesis. However just like with Elive-Gen everything works but wifi and trying to install the wifi manually is a nightmare. I follow the debian instructions for iwlagn and compat but elive seems to want nothing to do with them!!

  • LA fille se pogne un sein à 0:46 hahaha

  • My favorite part was when she adjusted her boob.

  • which is of course an essential part of using Linux! lol

  • Cool video, nice effects and great effect and audio sync...

  • whats up with the boob grab at 0:45?

  • that must be the most random bit in the video lol

  • great video! (one of the greatest one about linux in my opinion, and i've seen a lot of them)

i've already downloaded Elive, but i'm still thinking 'bout

pros and cons of changine from mandriva to Elive

I've tried enlightenment in mandriva and really like it!

  • Dang, this is a trip! Excellent work! Very well thought out & orchestrated!

  • 2 bad its so buggy..

  • Not as well as OpenGEU 8.10 Luna Serena,it has the buggiest E17 and ecomorph.

  • both of them have same e17...non of the Elives/OpenGeu's dev's develop Enlightenment...they just take Distro and put Englightenment Dev. relise 17 on it.. you can do it your self with no troubles.

  • Well, that means the E17 is acting much better on a Debian based off system than an Ubuntu based off one.

  • well i agree.. but it still acts better on Arch than on any other distro ))

  • Free download....if you pay them 10 *insert currency of choice here* Not much, but not free

  • For this compiz version ? please read better, free download :P

  • I guess my problem with the elive site is that the thrust of it is pay me, I spend my time on this. Which is fine, but the language all suggests choice, which there is not. The stable version requires a payment, small though it is. The unstable versions are free, which is cool. I may try one, and the compiz looks interesting. I'm just not sure I'm down with the "donation". Also, is the source available for download?

  • I dunno man, I mean the person who makes it probably puts a lot of time in, and produces a wicked distro. I think that warrants a donation :)

  • Comment removed

  • BTW,why don't I see other welknown women in linux?

  • I know too.I'm using it for 3 months already without any bug almost, and it should be "unstable".I find it more stable than latest ubuntu and elive 1 gem even.Too bad there's not an amd64 version yet.

  • fantastic!

It works so well. There's only been few minor glitches here and there, but it's mostly fine.

You've done an amazing job there - eLive is probably one of the best things after sliced bread, the wheel and potentially caramel shortcake. I've always wanted a debian-based distro for my needs, and I've always wanted to try out enlightenment, and suddenly, eLive comes along! Blimey, great job indeed.

    Keep it up! :)

  • Bumpin' yeah!!!

  • It's nice, but i prefer my debian with just gnome. Anyway, very nice job from elive team

  • O_O OMG i can't wait to use this ^_^

  • OMFG the dream of all my life *.*

  • OK,now I have the latest elive-compiz too.

  • Noooo Way!!

The super Elive team made this special version of Elive with compiz included.! just a testing release but... pretty remarkable ;-)

I always wanted to try out elive but i don't have a credit card to donate... I'm sorry guys.

  • The unstable versions are free to test, this is not elive 1 gem.

  • Wow, it's actually slow because it take so long time to animate everything. OMFGWTFBBQ!

  • that's because you have a slow graphic card or no 3d-support... use the normal development version if your computer doesn't support 3d under linux

  • this is crap!! you can't run compiz and E17 toghether!

  • Why not?

  • is selling an openoffice is legal..cause the dev's of this project offer so called Bonus Disc with openoffice for 5 bucks! we do not want another Windows!

  • Dude, it's for sending it to you and the cost of the burning the cd. If you have a problem you can just download it. Sheesh.

  • No, it's not. You can sell software licensed under GPL.

  • Because of you I'm triple-booting again:windows+ubuntu+elive.

  • Was this video made using Linux and OSS?

  • yes, entirely, the NLE application used is "cinelerra"

  • BTW where can I find this piece of music? Thanks.

  • jamendo: free electrons

  • Awesome desktop. But I run Arch on my laptop.

  • ok. it was not convincing at all. What about the usage of this desktop manager in a work context?

When I have to write a report of 15 pages, with charts, graphs and everything to do, how does this stuff give an advantage over Gnome or KDE?

Just playing with windows (and boobs) won't justify to try this. I mean, it's beautiful but useless. like a screensaver.

  • lol. what part of aesthetics is intended to boost efficiency? Do you want cool animations or not? And please be a bit more appreciative towards those who gave up so much free time to write these apps for ya buddy. _b Heads Up!

  • Its like all the other new OS eye candy (Aero, OS X), just to make the experience nice. Yeah, you can use Windows 95 to do that stuff you are talking about but that isn't very much fun. This is very pleasing on the eye when doing whatever you need to do.

  • Yeah, nice gimmicks, but content matters to me. BTW, convince me with hardware\software compatibility. Then we'll talk business...

    Cool though!

  • Tell the hardware manufacturers to provide the specs and follow open standards.

  • I liked the second 00:45 ... nice effects, i'll try it on my laptop

  • you're very good with cinelerra!

  • thank you :) btw i just need more motivation and more material

  • a saw a boob grab...

  • She must have been very excited by E17 with Compiz effects.

  • Youtube!? Why for you yank the video?

  • Elive, enlightenment and yes now I must say Compiz all rock, while yet again my cheap mother board got pissed over booting into linux (bad network card driver) Elive compiz was a real treat..

While a fan I do have to agree though elive needs work.. But not like Ubuntu.. Epanel just needs more work..

    Keep it up Thanatermesis !!

  • Looking Glass (though honestly I hated it)

Looking Glass was first developed by Hideya Kawahara, a Sun programmer who wrote it in his spare time on a small Linux laptop. After demonstrating an early version to Sun executives, he was assigned to it full time with a dedicated team and open-sourced the project. [1] It was demonstrated publicly by Jonathan Schwartz at Sun Networks 2003 in San Francisco, and since then has gathered momentum in development.[2]

  • 3d-desktop which has been on elive for some time now dates back to the late 90's

  • 3dwm now dead went even further (Too far and was hard as hell to get running) It used a 3dfx like world file and arguably was an attempt at a virtual realty desktop..

  • Muuuuy buen video!!! y el final me encanto.. :)

  • Finally E17 with compiz(ecomorph),2 very beautifull things combined.I was waiting for such a thing.Already downloaded and tested.Very nice.Keep the good work.

    A linux user.

  • Yes, except Elive is free.

  • except Elive isn't free

he requires a "donation" in order to download the product. totally kills the idea of open source.

  • Have you ever read the GPL? If not you should do so.

Its one guys main job, how is he supposed to live?

His choice was to make this beautiful OS and make money out of it. There is nothing wrong with it. If you dont want to buy it, then dont!

  • do you are sure to know what free means ? free means that you are able to modify and adapt the source code at your needs (basically), there's no any problem to sell it, please read better the free licenses

  • try harder the engrishes?

  • Look, it's a great piece of software. I paid my donation after using it because I like what you've done, but all in all if I want to pay money for an operating system I'll get something that "just works". By this I mean Windows or Mac. I, along with many, deal with the headaches of Linux distributions that pop up now and again because if the system doesn't work, we're not out our money.

Honestly, I don't want to pay for misspellings and grammatical errors in my installer.

  • @cooltd825 linux is free...it's much more stable and secure than windows...

  • freedom and stability are NOT by any means synonymous. if you can fix my audio problem, a loud continuous static coming from the left channel, by all means tell me how. and the other hundreds of affected users on Launchpad, because the developers sure can't. or the reason why my user switcher suddenly stopped working in Debian?

Linux is fun, and I'll agree secure. but in terms of stability, Windows is still years ahead.

  • @cooltd825 update your system only from 5 to 5 years like windows and u will get a stable SO

stop beeing such a pussy, if u have a problem fix it and stop complaining i use archlinux a roling realese distro that updates all day everyday and i have no problems.

And now that i get PES2010 and FM2010 working on linux via wine i dont use Windows anymore

  • nah, Windows update keeps it fairly up-to-date. I'll admit, it's nothing like Linux releases, but it does a good job. What would you rather have, a tested release of a product a week later, or a bleeding edge update that crashes your system. For an example, Fedora 12's X Server. I have a new ATi video card. at release, was it supported? not in the least! I switched back to Ubuntu because I had no video. that's a problem.

and please, fix my audio if you can. but I highly doubt you can.

  • @cooltd825

i prefer to use archlinux and have last updates(arch updates more than any other distro) and have my system working like a charm.

about sound problem have at least tried installing OSS instead of alsa?

u guys dont know how to work with linux and think is linux fault.

i only agree with ATI issue cause at a few years ago ATI and linux wasnt a really good combo, thats why i made sure to get my laptop with an nvidia

if u want help say me your hardware and the problems

  • oh god nvidia is the worst! What a company of fascist tards

  • nice work guys

  • Great concept, work on the production quality. ;)

  • great video

  • Great !!!!

Felicidades una vez mas Thatermesis gran trabajo con elive y con los videos de el.

  • Compiz is a window manager. E17 is one, too. Whoever wrote this piece of software is a pure genius.
