even though in biracial hair she says slave raped by the master doesn't mean that's how she's mixed. in poetry you don't have to write about yourself it's a story and it can be anyone's story nad you can portray anyone you want she could be mixed like that but i think she was just trying to stress the deeper side of her poem where she gets into the racial topic.

let's forget the race subject at all it sdoesn't matter what she is this is a beautiful poem.

Both of her parents are black from my understanding. I dont consider black and puertoricans to be biracial . If they are than MY child is biracial . Puertoricans and hispanics have alot of african blood in them . My kids are black and rican and they look black. My little girl looks exactly like Zora ...same skin color & hair texture and she's black.

That is not true....She said in one of her poems that her heritage/racial make up is due to mixing when slavery was going on. Im pretty sure that both of her parents are black with a lil bit of white blood like most black folks

well, actually, if you look at her DOCUMENTARY, her mother is 100% black, her father is 100% white. it IS true. she talks about the mixture in "Biracial hair" yes i know the poem. Do some research before you claim whats "true" and whats not.
