I've seen entire neighbourhood made out of cardboard boxes and children on highways begging for money using petty home made instruments instead of being in school. Of course I do not approve of this behaviour, but when it comes down to your survival and putting food in your children's bellies what else can you do? I've seen women who "rent out" children with physical disabilities to beg for money.

i feel sad for the monkeys, I think it's the time to make a change.. starting from school. I was raised in indonesia for 15 years, and the lady in the video said right, we've been taught that monkey is like a puppet in the society. However, if the school can educate more about animal cruelty, it'll be very helpful to reduce the cruelty against any kind of animals. Now, there has been a lot of international school in Jakarta, hopefully they can teach this to the students....:(

It really does a sophisticated matter among these people. They perhaps do not want to do that kind of activity, however, the economic circumstances have left them no choice. Many people who live below the poverty line are struggling to survive each day. The only way to resolve this social matter is the government itself. These people need help from the government. 1. The orphans who are using the monkey to make a living don't know any better. That is the only thing they know of. Hence they're doing it. If u don't break the circle, more will follow. THIS IS THE PROBLEM!!

2. SOLUTION is to give them an alternative. If you don't show them a new way of doing things you will fail them. The only way to tackle this is to have SOCIAL PROGRAMS or FREE EDUCATION.
