It always amuses me when stupid people get upset about monkeys and other animals suffering, but couldn't give two shits for their fellow humans. I guess dumb, hairy asspickers feel more kinship with other dumb, hairy asspickers.
@Fogtrill I couldn't agree more. It never ceases to amaze me how many outright racist comments get posted to videos showing life among people who use animals directly to support themselves, posted by people who benefit from the use of animals by proxy.
people in other countries do that with their dogs don't they, like chain them up, regard them as toys, make them do whatever the owner wants and don't give a shit about their social needs

el ser humano es la bestia mas abominable que existe, el lo destruye todo , mata por placer y mata a su hermano por dinero,,,, ojala luego desaparezca de la faz de este hermoso planeta.
what if its the other way around...the hanging part was hard to watch. just tryin to make a living, that's bullshit! i have been working since i was young so i know how hard it is specially when you are poor. its a harsh world indeed but still, unacceptable.
@mikejohn86 My mom is from Indonesia and trust me these people are desperate to make money. I've seen entire neighbourhood made out of cardboard boxes and children on highways begging for money using petty home made instruments instead of being in school. Of course I do not approve of this behaviour, but when it comes down to your survival and putting food in your children's bellies what else can you do? I've seen women who "rent out" children with physical disabilities to beg for money.
@mikejohn86 And somehow you can afford replying to message on youtube meaning you have access to a computer and internet. They are trying to survive, not better their situation. Clearly your situation got better, that is where the difference lies. Also they are in a country where this is acceptable and they do not get in legal trouble from doing this. Notice how the woman advocating for the monkeys is caucasian?
@aureliefregeau everyone has their opinion and i respect that. i guess my life has gotten better, better than the hellhole i was in...i'm fortunate enough that i was adopted fed and clothe. f.y.i. im no caucasian, im a pilipino.
@mikejohn86 I'm glad to hear that things turned out for the better for you and hope the same for both these kids and the monkeys. f.y.i I am half asian. lol
This is a big SHAME, this is heartbreaking and so cruelty, let the monkeys in the wild, I know their mothers were shoot. What A disgrace shame on you Indoneasia!!!!!
@guva2212 What is disgraceful is that people have to do this to feed themselves and their families. Indonesia is extremely corrupted. This is just a small problem amongst many more important ones.
i feel sad for the monkeys, I think it's the time to make a change.. starting from school. I was raised in indonesia for 15 years, and the lady in the video said right, we've been taught that monkey is like a puppet in the society. However, if the school can educate more about animal cruelty, it'll be very helpful to reduce the cruelty against any kind of animals. Now, there has been a lot of international school in Jakarta, hopefully they can teach this to the students....:(
these able bodied men can get a damn job! im telling you, if i was there theyd be wearing me like a scarf. but, they can "cope with it". this is evil period. God help these monkeys and may the Lord be with them.
It really does a sophisticated matter among these people. They perhaps do not want to do that kind of activity, however, the economic circumstances have left them no choice. Many people who live below the poverty line are struggling to survive each day. The only way to resolve this social matter is the government itself. These people need help from the government. We CAN'T just say we must stop this... think in their position who try to feed their family.
@Sincrol Its also easy to point finger than to actually do the due diligence. The real question is, why is the government failing these people? If you don't like to ask that question, then why are you giving the government a free pass? Shouldn't there be more social programs to prevent this from happening? Shouldn't education be made free to give these people an alternative to a life of misery?
The monkey is not going to solve the problem. Simple as that.
is easy to think in "other ways" when you are not the one starving and living under wood slums, right? [2]
it doesnt matter how hard you need to explain it... or who the fault is it... the problem is, the first thing you and many people see, is the stupid monkey sufering, not the people. And is very easy to find the root of the problems when you are not the one who lives in Slums and have nothing to eat, right?
@Sincrol Oh thats right, let do the same thing over & over again and expect different results! That totally makes sense!
If you need a different result, you need to make a change. If Indonesian government doesn't offer social programs for poor then why doesn't someone take the lead? Your perfectly happy giving government a free pass while expecting the monkey to do magic.
I know how the World works and unless Indonesia is situated on Mars, same principles apply.
im not an apologist... you are the one who think problems like goverment corruption are easy to solve... Take a look how many died in the middle east.
See where this conversation is going? we are not even talking about those monkeys anymore... this has become a political debate.
Then what? after we decide politicians are not the problem. then what? its the organized crime fault?
Belive me, if the solution was that simple as you think, they woudnt need to chain monkeys to earn money.
1. The orphans who are using the monkey to make a living don't know any better. That is the only thing they know of. Hence they're doing it. If u don't break the circle, more will follow. THIS IS THE PROBLEM!!
2. SOLUTION is to give them an alternative. If you don't show them a new way of doing things you will fail them. The only way to tackle this is to have SOCIAL PROGRAMS or FREE EDUCATION.
God how difficult is it for you to understand that?
how difficult is for YOU to understand that those things DONT WORK OUTSIDE OF CANADA? If "Social programs and free education" work in your country, good for you!
But clearly it doesnt work in indonisia, thats why those people need to chain monkeys...
yet AGAIN I NEED TO REPEAT IT, is EASY to find a easy solution when YOU ARE NOT THE ONE STARVING... In practice, things are a little bit HARDER.
how many times do i need to repeat the same thing for you? damn.
look whos talking! you have all the chances in the world there in Canada... obviously, you think problems are easy to solve, just like they are in your live, and in the country you live.
But, dont ask the same for those people in Indonesia, they didnt have the same education as you...
@Sincrol God how thick are you really? I AM SAYING GIVE THEM FREE EDUCATION SO THEY HAVE OPPORTUNITIES TO MAKE A BETTER LIFE FOR THEMSELVES RATHER THAN BE A BURDEN ON SOCIETY.
Can you read?
Second, attacking me personally only shows that you have no point or ideas of your own and you are simply trolling or being an apologist. Oh yes the best way to make an argument is to attack me personally and de-legitimize me from a debate. Now thats pretty stupid.
@BCAlison You know what, this debate is going nowhere...
Obviously, you think problems like those in the video are Easy to solve... thats why only indonisia is poor, right? yeah, lets give them "Social programs and free education".... and who is going to pay for that? the poor? with what money? aaaah! yes, with the money they earn with the monkeys... right?
see, is not that easy. Anyway..
i end here my participation in this endless debate. Bye.
@Sincrol God you must one of the more thick people I have met on YouTube.
Cuba has a GDP of $62B, Saudi Arabia has a GDP of $375B, Indonesia has a GDP of $540B! Cuba and Saudi Arabia has free education for everyone along with meals. What is Indonesia's excuse? but but but... we are so poor! You are an apologist troll.
And you are suffering from Tolstoy Syndrome. Even in the face of facts you continue to hide behind lies. Hey if that helps you sleep better at night, why not?
