  • page 31, "Gateway of Tlaztlan" is says "very largest Kroxigor, each encased in golden armour" I want a model for this.. it would look so amazing

  • Kroxigi, haha.

  • @Devstro if someone aint already said the reason they are strapped to there weapon is so they dont drop them a kroxigor in its brain thinks it should fight with its claws and jaws, also theres a nice lord called nakai the wanderer rules are no longer on gw but u can find em around.

  • Page 53 of the Lizardmen Army Book lists them as Kroxigors

i personally thought it was simply Kroxigor plural but there you go!

  • kroxigor, kroxigors.., I like kroxigor, but since the beastmen are called "gors" and "ungors" I dunno, I'd say it's probably kroxigors.., but that's just my theory!

  • i'm planning on making a lizardmen army and i was wondering a few things.

    1. can you do a video on stegadon?

    2. do kroxigor and stegadon Stomp!?

  • It's lashed to his wrist that way so that he can use his free arm without having to hold the mace by the bottom of the hilt, where all of the weight now has to either occupy his shoulder, or be dragged -since he sure as hell isnt balancing that huge ball- also, he can pick a mother up with the free hand and smash him against it like a punching weapon. That's my take, Im no experct, but I think Im pretty close. Let me know what you think!

  • Yeah, the wrist strap thing is really kinda a dumb place to be. Undoubtedly the third kroxigor is the coolest of all. It's so big and bulky, it makes you feel powerful to use it in battle, which is why it makes no sense that they are weaker now.... Maybe they though he was too overpowered.

  • It appears that the leather strap is attached to the ball at the tip , when he pulls his hand it might dislodge and fly into the enemy, sorta like the fanatic weapon swinging about ,then he can just take the stick and lock the ball from whatever corpse he nails it with :) , if I didn't buy tomb kings I'd be collecting lizaedmen , please make some painting tutorial vids !!! love your minatures !

  • My experience with Kroxigor is that they can die to easy with only toughness 4 and always attacking last, they can cause major damage but that is if they survive.

  • @BR4DSH4W but if your Slann has the lore of life or light, they will survive a lot longer and/or have a chance of coming back to life!

  • Always love the history lesson. Nicely painted too.

  • @Generalsplatton There you are. How have you been man?

  • when you painted your kroxxigor.. did you paint the individual scales .. or did yo base coat the whole model one color then dry brush the scales

  • @chetdaye I paint individual scales

  • @Devstro when you paint the patchs individual.. do you put a single coat on it É ... or do you just highlight around the patch its selfÉÉÉ some adivce on your tecqnique would help.. my first kroixgor (the small shitty one by the way) turned out alright but next one has too be better

  • @chetdaye I've done different techniques. I've painted all of the scales a random pattern of 5-6 different colors that are all similar. I've also painted them all and then highlighted the edges.

  • @Devstro when you say you painted all the scaes a random pattern of 5-6 different colours thar are similair... do you mean you painted the scales indivual... or like make your own design.. on the back.. if that question even made sense

  • @chetdaye I took several shades of green, and individually pained each scale one of those colors. I made sure that no two scales that were touching had the same color on them. I didn't follow any set pattern, I tried to make it as random as I could, without having the same color on adjacent scales.

  • @Devstro thank you very myuch.. your advice has been very helpful... i;ve been dry brushing my sauraus warriors and temple guards scales.. which looks quiet nice.. however i think im goinng too try something different for the kroxigor.. so you paint the scales with a few different colours.. and the highlight the edges .. thanxs

  • devstro you never reply too my question but hopfully you reply too this one... how do you put the kroxigor onto the base.. do you drill a hole through the back

  • @chetdaye I poked a hole in the base using an exacto knife. The Kroxigor have a peg on one of their feet. I put glue on the peg and both of the feet and then glued them to the base.

  • you should make a collection video of your lizardmen

  • maybe the leather tie is the reason for the one less strength point :)

  • @clmosk HA! That's funny!

  • Devstro.. I played warhammer back in the day when the skinks had short bows... im 25 now and got back into playing cause now i have all the money in the wrold for peices... any way i respect your advice.. what do you think i should do with my lizardmen army.. i bought the box set... i got a kroxigor.. should i put them in with a group of skinks.. and whats your thoughts on adding herosandlords into regiments of sauras warrios and skinks ect

  • Hi Devstro

its hellballs friend and in my personal beleifs, i would say kroxigor are a waste of points

3 black guard took on 2 kroxigor and tiq tac to unmounted. lol

  • Hey Devstro, was wondering what your opinion is of the lizardmen in 8th edition, will the attacking in initiative order nerf them?

  • Okay ive played against kroxigors now they are not really all that good on there own however they are amazing in the skinks becouse you cant attack them in close combat but they can attack you becouse there monsterous infantry now so they get all of there attacks in the second rank and theve gotten rid of the Reach speicial rule. oh ya and even if you take them IN the skinks it still takes up a speicial point values becouse they force orginazation chart has been replaced with percentages.

  • @hellball5 They arent good at all

  • @CurseoftheGarrett they are now if there in the skinks becouse you cant attack them in the second rank now

  • @hellball5 your just a stupid little asshole go to HELL

  • ok you know what i just noticed.... you and i have the same color schemes (you 7th ed modle with my normal rank and file)

  • Awesome vid!!

I would cut that leather thing of

  • whats up with the -1 str? and the stupid hammer strap? isnt the point of the hammer to swing it down, slam it down and slide you upper hand to the bottom completing the swinging motion?

and as for the word i agree with King Zolem that "I personaly say Kroxigor as it's structure lends itself to both singular and plural usage due to phonetic composition."

  • Kroxigors natural fighting instinct tells them to use their natural weapons (claws, jaw, tail), and unless their GWs is strapped to their arms in such a way, they would simply drop them. It is basically a way of getting around the kroxigors natural instinct (but I agree, it does look a bit strange. If I were to get any of the new models, I would probably remove the strap).

  • Yeah, Kroxigor(s) are so pants-on-head retarded that they need their weapon tied to them, because they'd rather claw and bash them with their hands...

  • I personaly say Kroxigor as it's structure lends itself to both singular and plural usage due to phonetic composition.

  • @KingZolem Exactly!

  • Kroxigors are pretty good in 8th edition rules. I plan on taking lots and lots of them.

  • "Some sort of big smashy thing." The best weapon ever.

  • He has the leather strap around his wrist, but he also has a q-ray bracelet around his elbow

  • Big lizard in my backyard

  • Hi Devstro, Have you read the new 8th edtion rules yet? what are your thoughts on it so far? im loveing it so far.

  • I recall in the 6th edition LM book that their weapons were lashed to their arms with 'chains' so they wouldn't throw them down in the middle of battle to fight with thei claws. Skinks would bind these to them because they normally were used for heavy lifting in Temple Cities. But, yeah, that point its bound seems odd.

  • Id just cut the binding leather off lol

  • ugh combat res against low toughness and low int stuff is so high i played against high elves and got 29 skinks killed in 1 turn.

  • My 6th edition mini-krox got put on a 25mm base and became an Oldblood on foot. It ranks up far too easily with the saurus warriors.

  • Comment removed

  • @theN389 Yeah, I know. When 8th was announced, it did remove some of my enthusiasm for completing the series. I don't really want to do it all over again, but I don't really like the fact that the rules have changed on me. I will complete the series, as my primary objective for the series was to show the models and how they have evolved over time, with rules and tactical considerations being my second focus (even if it doesn't always come across that way.

  • @Devstro Sounds good to me, I enjoy seeing the evolution of the models. Maybe you could do the tactics for the rest of the lizardmen series from an 8th edition standpoint? Maybe do a quick video reviewing 8th edition? I'd also look forward to the next warhammer series race you pick being talked about in a 8th edition view. Regardless, I love the series, keep up the good work. =)

  • @theN389 Damm No Great reach and no hit and Run ??!?!?!

Then the skink's and kroxigors are not as good as they where :(

  • @bragidaniel With the way Supporting Attacks now work, in 8th all that means is that our Skink/Krox can be fielding the same way but the Kroxigor can't be attacked back. As for Terradons, they're given the Feigned Flight rule now, instead of being given a rule that gives Feigned Flight.

  • @ForwarDotSlash "Hti and Run" was much different and better then the normal "Feigned Flight" special rules for fast cavalry...Though I don't think "Vanguard" is a worthy replacement of "Hit and Run" either..

  • @theN389

"Hit and Run" was different and better in the 6th edition Lizardmen armybook , but all the 7th ed armybook "Hit and Run" rule did was give "Feigned Flight," which Terradons still get. There is no change for Terradons unless you're converting from 6th directly to 8th ed, but many things are bound to be different then.

  • @bragidaniel Actually I made a slight error, while "Great Reach" is gone, this only benefits the kroxigor. See it's the "Spawn-Kin" rule that actually lets them fight in the second rank. And with supporting attacks and monsterous infantry special rules, they now do the same damage as before, but now can't be attacked back until the unit is depleted enough. I didn't actually read the Kroxigor special rules right before posting the first time. Though no "Hit and Run" is a nerf to Terradon Riders..

  • 6th edition Krox was my favourite... It looks more threatening, even if it is a bit smaller. But in 6th the skinks on Terradons were poorly scaled, so I blamed the sculpter's scale guide for errors like this. Anyway it's hunched over and looks less like it should suffer stupidity like the new one.

  • o wow the old kroxigor models so cool!!

  • kroxigori is plural

  • Kroxigor!

  • Love your command of Technical gaming terms...."Some kind of big smashy thing" LOL...Love your vids bud...Can always count on a few quirky fun comments and the Lizardmen are always cool too.

  • Exuse my bad Speling I ame not frome a Eng Speking Nation.

  • @BloodRavenTribe I think you meant to comment to Devstro and not me. He was the one in his own video talking about the strap..I was just kidding with him about him calling the mace a "big smashy thing" LOL
