amazing work. love the different patters and colors. I turned my first bowl in high school and have not got a chance to do it again. maybe it is because i do not have access to a lath. What is the one you are working with?
Nice video! those are some great skills imho, but I muted the sound after 10 seconds...
PS: the technique is to do rings separately and glue them together in the end or it's more like building a cake (start with the bottom layer and then put one after the other)?
I absolutely loved the bowl and the video. When I saw this stunning work of art It touched me in a way i can't explain and finally showed me what i have been looking for all these many years. Thank you very much.
No one asked you to understand what drives us to make artwork like this, and nobody is asking YOU to do "all that work". so we would appreciate it if you would keep your disparaging comments, and vulgar toungue to yorself. thank you.
not a lot of people think about how much time we put into our artworks.(very nice video)...i do a different kind of wood art, but it`s time consuming, as is your`s.
Making the half circle cuts is very hard to explain. It is a function of the straight board sections turned round in 2 dimensions. I will post another video demonstrating this technique.
I knew someone who had a woodworking shop where they manufactured ultra-light planes, I'd sit there for hours just watching the 'chips and dust fly', it taught me how to relax....Wonderful therapy!
Absolutely gorgeous attention to detail. I'll make a deal with you. I'll tell you, that you are a better turner than Mac.......if you don't tell him I said so. :-)
All the best with the other things in your life right now. Keep up the good work! :-) Lyndell
