  • What a tear jerker! I had never heard this before and it just ripped my heart out! Thanks for sharing!

  • "Drunken Driver" is a serious song about what happens when people drink and drive. Hearing this song makes me cry, nothing to laugh about here. I wish that more people would sit down and listen to it, there is a lesson to be learned. I just discovered that Ferlin Husky passed away. He will certainly be missed.

  • This song has honest emotion & feeling.Unfortunely that's why a lot of people think it's funny. It made me cry but that's because i'm a human being.Maybe someone drunk might remember this song before they got in a car.Another country legend is gone & there's no one to replace him.FERLIN HUSKY will be missed.

  • We'll miss you, Ferlin..

  • R.I.P., Ferlin. One of the greats.

  • If you play a sad Country song backwards, you get your house, your wife and your kids back!!!

  • @ambyyy1 then I would be sad.

  • @inshreds56 ... and right another country song.

  • @ambyyy1 what an original joke

  • @ambyyy1 also your dog comes back from the dead

  • oh LAWL.

  • @chrisjt86 yep sure is unintentionally funny. We shouldn't laugh.

  • @inshreds56 `Nothing funny here!!!!.. I was sober, in an 18 wheeler when i hit a jay walker....she flew 40 feet but lived.... that was 24 years ago and i still have not gotten over it... This sone is sad......."NOTHING FUNNY HERE"!!!!

  • @4957ace I hear ya! I nearly lost my life because a Man decided to drink and drive. This song may sound over the top to some people, but it sure wasn't funny for us when we were waiting for the ambulance to come and take us to the hospital, because a Man chose to drive while drunk.

  • @chrisjt86 You should try his song "I Dug My Dady's Grave"!

  • what a depressing song

  • how true these words are....a sad reality for all of us

    thank you for sharing

  • sad old song from the cowboy days not to many drinks on the road in 1954.

  • As a teenager I thought this song was amusing. As an adult who has experienced life. I know better. Now I cry sometime. I guess it was the old "play me a hurtin' tune" mindset I was alluding to at the time.

  • @Himself73 Thats what you get!!! Cry some more!!!!!!

  • As a teenager I thought this song was amusing. As an adult who has experienced life. I know better. Now I cry sometime.

  • Heartbreaking and a SUPERB song from Ferlin. Deb

  • My dad had this record years ago wow brought back some weird memories thanks for sharing it

  • They don't make 'em like this anymore...

  • This song needs to be *automatically* played in EVERY bar in this country (worldwide wouldn't hurt) AT LEAST hourly, ON the hour! My 6 month old baby girl was killed on Mother's Day in 1975 by a drunk & doped up driver, when we ran out of gas...he rear-ended us at speeds in EXCESS of 105-115mph in a 35mph zone, pushing our car 147ft, and our car went another 50ft by itself before it hit a bill board pole (similar to a telephone pole).

  • @TheFidLady
