e ci mankerebbe altro ke genentech, come biogen idec & elan, non informino almeno i medici! nel frattempo, x avere dati reali i veri clienti e fruitori finali, quelli ke tanto bonariamente vengono definiti 'pazienti', s'informano x conto proprio ;-)

sa com'è... 'informatore sanitario' e/u/o operatore trading ke sia, a ognuno il suo 'mestiere'... visto ke con il tysabri si crepa, visto ke uno non vorrebbe beccarsi altre sfighe, visto ke di sm non si muore... parola di sklerata ;-)

La leucoencefalopatia multifocale progressiva è ritenuta essere causata dalla riattivazione del virus JC. Può presentarsi in qualsiasi condizione che comporti una concomitante depressione dell'immunità cellulo-mediata (p. es., AIDS, sindrome di Wiskott-Aldrich, trapianti d'organo). Vi sono casi di PML associati ad impiego di farmaci. Tra questi, Rituximab ( Rituxan / MabThera ), l'Infliximab ( Remicade ), il Natalizumab ( Tysabri ), i chemioterapici, i corticosteroidi ed alcuni farmaci relativi ai trapianti come il Tacrolimus ( Prototpic ). ( Wikipedia )

Genentech ha inviato ai medici una lettera per informarli di un caso di leucoencefalopatia multifocale progressiva ( PML ) in un paziente di 70 anni, che aveva ricevuto Raptiva ( Efalizumab ) per più di 4 anni nel trattamento della psoriasi a placche cronica.

Successivamente sono stati segnalati casi di leucoencefalopatia multiforme progressiva con Tysabri. Questo è dovuto ad attivazione del virus JC, che è presenta in forma latente in quasi l'85% della popolazione generale.

However, i have to notify what i've read about the use of Natalizumab WITH avonex. Two or three persons died. It was not an accident.

Non avete segnalato i due casi di morte o sbaglio? cmq son d'accordo che si tratti di un significativo passo avanti nella terapia della SM; tuttavia i pazienti devono essere avvertiti.
