  • Second tune is "King George IV" strathspey. Great playing!

  • The night in Drimalost was brill!

Had fantastic Easter week at the Ceol sa Ghleann festival in Glencolmcille - James Byrne,Mick Brown, Derek McGinley,Martin McGinley, couple of great guys from Sweden, couldn't stop them from playing if you tried...lots more - they recorded a ceili house on the last night, should be out there on the RTE website, if anyone wants to listen in.

Can't wait for the summer school in July!

  • Almost sounds like Scottish fiddle music?

  • The second tune is a Strathspey

  • I have some ancestors from Donegal just goes to show people must have gone both ways.

  • the first tune is also a strathspey "The cat that Kittled in Jamie's wig."

  • That's right. Two great tunes.

  • microphone could be more centrally placed to get nuances of all 4 fiddlers.Otherwise great video of these DgN icons, Who is the young fiddler in the background?

  • Not me, anyway!

  • Aye, that's the real folk music

  • Great stuff. I wonder where they are. Glencolumbkille ?

  • The group are playing in the Old thatch cottage which Danny grew up in with his 10 brothers and sisters in Drimalost, Mountcharles, Co. Donegal. The house was restored by the Meehan Family in the summer of 2006 and this was the first party held there in over 30 years.

  • Great stuff. I saw these three gentleman playing together in Camden Town a few years ago.

  • I was there in Camden too, Pete! A marvellous night altogether.
