he was born in a house full of pain, he was trained not to spit in the fan, he was told what to do by the man, he was broken by trained personnel, he was fitted with collar and chain....he was given a pat on the back, he was breaking awaaaay from the packk..............
maybe they won't release any of the 1970's live stuff.. because that era is when these four great friends were driven apart? (well, not completely from each other.. only waters from the others)
and releasing stuff from this sad era (sad for them, at least) and receiving money from it.. probably just wouldn't feel right.
PINK FLOYD. its the day after thanksgiving 2010. pink floyd is one of the greatest bands alive..the guitar ride in comfortubly numb makes me cry every time..our band plays ten songs from floyd. ide like to play all floyd. so if you dont like it eat me..ass whip...god bless you. dan..
what i need to say on this day after thanksgiving 2010.is that beaing a musican drums to be exact. pink floyd either with original or roger waters keeping it going to me is a thrilling fealing where i break down in tears during the guitar ride in comfortubly numb. please excuse my type os. but people who say negative things about them can suck me..thay are one of the greatest bands alive. the band i play in do a whole set deticated to pink floyd...I LOVE THEM SO GO FK YOURSELF. GOD BLES YOU.
They didnt suck in the 70's! They mearly Perfected their techniques over the years. Perfection is hard to obtain, it took them a few years, but they found that sweet spot and became untouchable. To hear the old stuff is Sweet changes and variations in the line ups! I WISH I COULDVE BEEN THERE!
How can you say Pink Floyd sucked live in the 70's.I saw them in the 70's for the Dark side tour,Wish you were here tour (twice). And the "Animals"show.they were all amazing concerts.I bet you never seen them in the 70's if you have seen them at all.
Wright's moog synth part starting at around a minute here sounds very Tangerine Dream-like don't you think? Richard Wright is the man I tell you, he is THE MAN! Underrated genius keyboardist.
An old Pink Floyd concert would be awesome. One from 1970's period would be awesome. Too bad Roger and David still are at war in a way. You think after 20 years they could atleast work out a deal and release some old Floyd concerts on CD and DVD.
Memories? I traded one of my dad's 8-track tapes for two of my best friend's brother's. One was Houses of the Holy. The other: Pink Floyd's Animals. I thought it was the heaviest, most beautiful stuff I had ever heard.
Does nobody get why the Floyd doesn't release the older concerts now on DVD?? THINK- David says "After more than 20 years without Waters, do I really want to pay him writing credits plus film rights now?? I think NOT!!" Anyone disagree?

David Gilmour sang the second verse of this song because Water doesn't sing good live...Waters is a dumbass...he had a bad relationship with Richard Wright at this point so for Richard the sound and everything was like "whatever...I'm doing my job"
Yes, the guy who wrote most of The Wall, most of Animals and steered the Floyd throughout the 70s - must be a "dumbass"! How carelessly you dismiss genius!
yes it was in this show..(during the song "pigs three differents one")that's why this bootleg is sometimes called "who was trained not to spit in he fan"...and waters said later this event is one of the first reason he wrote "the wall" one year later...
to be honest, gilmour isn't a cash cow. he will not release anything usless it meets his standards in sound and picture quality. I am sure one day we will see many more floyd live shows......
Why doesn't Pink Floyd release a Live CD (and DVD?) of the best of their tours, say from 1972 through 1979? that would be something to own. Floyd has pretty much "ignored" their 1970's concert appearances, what a shame.
there is a lot of stuff that Floyd could cash in on, but for some reason, they won't. I don't know what it is, but they could've released a bunch of stuff, something along the lines of what Led Zeppelin has done. You know, the video box set, and the live CD's. There has to be something holding them back, cuz as you say, they would have tried to cash in by now.
Check out my channel for rare tracks from Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Gilmour with Roy Harper, and Roy Harper with Jimmy Page(doing "Short and Sweet", a song written by David Gilmour!) Thanks again!
It's my goal to post a cover of this - one day !! (hopefully)

Roger should be singing.

Anyone who says Floyd sucked live in the 1970s either wasn't born yet, or was probably a Mott The Hoople fan.
ukkfayooyay 2 years ago 5
LOL. Third reason being they dont know what good music is. The 70's were a good decade for The Floyd.

It sounds like Gilmour's singing Waters' parts...

i meant that its weird that he wrote the lyrics before he did it
justiniscoolohyea 3 years ago
the lyric has nothing to do with the fan incident man. and yeah, apparently its the show where he does.

Hey Green, I hope that the taped those for posterity, and I could be wrong, but don't you think that they would've cashed in by now?

I would third that, but the ending to High Hopes keeps bashing that thought out of my head... oh well, they're both awesome.

False, post-Waters Floyd is but an imitation.

@citizenbrando yes sir, i agree totally...high hopes true floyd, but mysteriously no roger to be found?

My favorite Floyd album. Nothing beats an album with two 1:30 minute songs, a 17 min song, and two 11 minute songs... it's just... wow!
