For a Big guy which i am myself I own the SV1000S n it's great i'm 6'1 302.... n it is my first bike n had it for 2yrs now. I'll say if you never rode before take the MSS class. It's very good.
@holdmycox I'm 6'2" on a 650 and had to do some mods for more leg room.
Is your sv1k comfortable in the legroom department? Do you wear any riding pants, or just jeans and sneakers? I wear aerostich overpants, over a pair of jeans, which causes me to need more legroom, and riding boots don't help.
You probably blew the engine up by pulling wheelies. The SV is not a wheelie friendly bike because the oil pickup is at the front, so when it's on the back wheel the engine gets oil starvation

oil deprivation?
there is a special kind of pump you can use on these bikes that prevents that problem during a wheelie, or so i heard in some SV forum

How did u blow up the engine?
Bulgdoom 1 year ago
by wheely
the front cilinder runs dry of oil and kills your crankshaft ,
Suzuki have change the oil pickup on the new models so there its not a big problem to do wheely ,
of course if you do very long wheely's you stil can blow him up,

wat would be better for a big guy? this or the ninja 650r?
sly467382007 2 years ago
Depends, there a big guys out there that like sports bikes. Depends where you ride, and how good your back is :)
Take em for a ride and see what you think.
The ninja is a sports bike, harsh riding position lots of weight on your wrists and back, if your a big guys (tall or heavy?) then that may be bad.
While people can give you an idea on what a bike is like you've gota jump on one and find out for yourself.
