It's no secret that Stephen's voice has faltered over the past decade for whatever ther eason. However, his playing remains extremely fluid. Crosby & Nash has somehow maintained a lot of their abilities. However, the reality is that they are the age they and probably the mindset they are. I can't imagine that they are overly thrilled at playing some songs decade after decade that were written in excess of 45 years ago. It's impossible to matain a vibe you had when you were 20 at 65.
Your negativity makes you appear very dense & adds negativity. It is worthless. "For What It's Worth", stay home. No one will miss an ugly, negative person such as yourself. On every level, this is wonderful. Perhaps you have a problem with your ears and not only your mind.
Damn, you showed me huh? Are people not entitled to their opinions? "For What It's Worth" I went, and it was not good. As I said,I love the guys(Particularly Stephen) but I won't try and convince myself(or anyone else for that matter) that they have been putting on quality(VOCALLY,not musically) shows lately. You talk about ME being negative and ugly when in fact it appears you are both twisted and bitter. Your personal attack on me shows that you are a mean and vindictive soul.
Actually, madampeel, Chris makes a very good point. I saw CSN this past summer, too, and I noticed a number of times during the show that the guys' vocals really WERE lacking. I don't necessarily hold that against them, since they're all in their mid-60s, and voices get a bit ragged with age. Musically, the group can still be brilliant (ESPECIALLY Stills!), but let's be totally honest here: strictly in regard to their vocal abilities, CSN of 2009 are not and CANNOT be the CSN of 1969...
Nor should they. It's called growing. Listen and compare their current rendition of "Rock and Roll Woman" with the 60's version from Buffaloe Springfield. I love how it sounds today and the passion Steven brings to the song.
