It is true, that the cheapest basses sometimes sound better than expensive bass guitars, especially when the bass guitarist knows how to eq his/her signal well. This bass sounds awesome this guy is the czar of bass
@spudgun05 I think - and thats many ppls assumption - Joe found Eric's style to be too aggressive and dominant... Carmine's just the opposite of this guy - harmonic but really really passive sound
That is another fucked up fact... some of the cheapest basses make great instruments. My main slap bass is 5-string Ibanez. It has the perfect fret radius and height for my playing style. It has a fucking awesome sound for a $300 bass. My other slap bass I use a lot is $200 Douglas 6-string. I have basses that cost 10X more, but these get played the most. Go figure: you make some money playing music, buy some nice instruments, but yet you play the cheap ones because you get a good sound!
@kc8ntp You are absolutely right about Ibanez basses. Some people think they are not that good for whatever reason - I love to slap with them, they have a unique sound that makes you want to play RHCP basslines, or Primus - I don't own one but there is a left handed one at the local GC that hasn't sold in the last year; I always play it when I go there :)

@geganobo Nah they date way back, mid 90's.
I have a RD which is the model they made to replace the ATK...they then discontinued it and then made ATK's again...that is an ATK for sure.
