  • Thanks oil industry etc etc for making your bias so obvious. Clearly you don't like ethanol, and don't give one thought to directly killing people with guns and bombs as being worse. We need to make changes ourselves, get off oil and corn and start doing ethanol right with hemp, sugar cane, sugar beets, and all the truly productive crops and methods not corn which is a poor source for fuel, and only used just to get votes and keep ethanol looking less attractive. And no monsanto gmo or chemicals

  • it would be cheaper to get machines to do the work.

  • Hey lets get these guys in a safe job like a coal mine , or an off shore oil rig , or try breathing the air in L.A. or any other big city that burns mostly petrol , what a sorry ass attempt by the oil companies to demonize clean bio fuels , how about that oil slick ready to kill all life in the GULF OF MEXICO , maybe this will wake some people up to the truth , if it doesn't kill the planet , over half are oxygen comes from plankton , smart move oil companies !

  • i got a solution!!! lets use hemp to make ethanol for all our fuel needs.all we need is a decorticator to process hemp fibers and presto ehtanol. this technology has been around since the 1917 and henry ford even made a hemp car look it up ...and you wonder why this isn't in the history books because all the rich people make the books and paper and ink its printed on and those same people are the ones that put a stop to that technology . I wonder what kinda world we would live in if it was diff

  • @jcpepejc exactly, hemp would solve this problem.

  • We are kiling Iraquis for oil....so i rather use sugarcane.,..that;s history with burnig sugarcane plantations in Brazil....

  • hurrr durrr "this video criticizes something I like, therefore it must be propaganda" durrrr

  • Well, at least I never saw a war for ethanol.

  • I think that the oil companies help make this propaganda to discourage you from using alternative fuel sorces. Middle Eastern workers laboring in the oil fields are probably abused just as much as this and I would not be surprised if abuse of workers is more common in the oil industry than the Ethanol industry but of course they don't tell you that.

  • and about deadly oil...ppl get killed over oil...

  • I'm sure the US oil companies like to spread propaganda like this. Anyone think Bloomberg was paid by oil executives to exploit all these truths? I run E85 in a 1992 Dodge Dakota truck with no modifications, and it runs better than with gasoline! I did change the spark plugs to Bosch Platinum 4's. I will be running 190 proof ethanol with no gasoline in the near future. Ethanol has an octane rating of better than 110! Premium Racing Fuel. Ethanol= no drilling! no pollution!

  • Hi guys, I´m from São Paulo Brazil, and I can tell for sure that this cenario had changed a lot.For instance, last year, São Paulo had 35.000 workers on this industry. This year this number droped to 22.000, notice that it´s just one year of differece.

São Paulo´s government is makig laws against this slave work, and producers are using machines instead of human work force.Obviously, I´m not trying to say that this documentary is a lie, but I want just to inform that this is changing.

  • i have heard about this documentary and the flaws related to the information given. but you have to admit that it is not so far from the reality of the boias-frias in brazil. you will never hear UNICA's president admitting that, and you will also never hear the true reasons for the production of this documentary- the fear that american farmers have of competing against cheap brazilian ethanol...

  • Of course this documentary interesting to american imcompetent ethanol makers, but it is true. Why not certificate SA 8000 all farms and ethanol factories? Could be a good way to prove Bloomberg was wrong.

Probably the video will be censored in Brazil.

  • FAKE!!!

whats really funny is to realize the fact that these same workers do a lot of riots when the farmers decide to use only machines to do the job. Theyre not forced to work just because sugarcane crops are produced in the most developed states of Brazil....And many of these workers are troublemakers.. well known.. these are isolated cases found normally inside the unions mafia...

  • "The report relies on isolated incidents, flawed data and unsubstantiated allegations. Not surprisingly, it arrives at unbalanced and

inappropriate conclusions that bear no resemblance to the industry as it is

today," says Marcos Jank, President of the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association (UNICA).

Google "Bloomberg Deadly Brew" for the full text...

  • The work conditions have been improving over the past years. For sure there have been many cases of death in the oil industry as well, but that is not reported. Ethanol may not be the salvation of the world but is a wonderful alternative to the poluting fossil fuels such as oil. The technology for ethanol production is geting better and better everyday. Hopefully exploitation related to ethanol will be over in a couple of years.

  • I agree with xavier.

I live near where this movie was made and I know there are cases like they show, but aren't all of them. There is an other side and I think they won't show it, because they don't care about this side.

There are much ways to see the same thing. They will show their way.

  • Hhehehehe

I found the photograph very good More it would not have to be invented historia on the Brazilian Ethanol Now Bloomberg to say lies on the work comes making alarm.

It could ties says truth now increases on the true historia does not make sensible for a TV of international respect.

I perceive the interest of this such substance and for it benefits the producers of American Ethanol.
