@Surgepeaceelectric- I disagree Jessica just did not have the same songs or style as Britney. More powerful voice sure but Britney had the looks, sex appeal and dance moves. Jessica, although beautiful is just an average dancer with a nice voice and no definitive trademark on her appeal. There will never be another Britney she is as distinct as they come. Britney had more creativity than people may believe she exerted decisions that created the image of herself. Jessica just let people mold her.

Jessica has amazing natural talent and can reach higher notes in chest voice due to the fact that she has a much higher natural tessitura/vocal placement, but that doesn't make a better singer. Christina's voice is deeper, but she knows how to work her voice more than Jessica does. Jessica is just a waste of great potential imo. She peaked with her first album vocally...
@lovemy4boys1 I mean, it's possible, but she's had SO many years to get herself together vocally & learn the proper mechanics of singing, and she just never bothered to do it. Her technique gets worse and worse, and now her range has suffered as a result of it. She has some of the worst vocal habits that I've ever heard in a singer. Honestly, with her technique, I'm surprised she was even able to sing a song like this. She has INCREDIBLE natural talent, but she wasted it away. It's a damn shame.

in my opinion, this has to be one of the hardest, if not the hardest songs to sing. If you sing this song once, you will feel it in your throat just how hard it is. This is the type of song that you can only sing once in a while cause if you sing it frequently, you can really damage your voice. I give props to Jessica for recording this song and singing this song live so well.

Remember how much she needed to struggle and required training just to be able to land the high E in her song "Reflection"? Well, that note is NOTHING compared to the notes that Jessica blasts in this song, especially at the bridge. I'm not saying Christina isn't a better vocalist, but she does NOT have a better upper range. Jessica is a high soprano, Christina is a mezzo. This is a fact.

Only one of the best performances of one of the most difficult songs in ALL OF POP MUSIC. The range of this song and sustained high belting of this song make "I will always love you" look like mary had a little lamb. It is so difficult she doesn't even try to sing it any more. For a while she had a version in a lower key she would pull out, but dunno if she even does that. Jessica is willing to push herself to he limit, even if it means hurting her voice. I respect that.

She obviously killed it, she has some serious pipes. But I'm surprised she can still speak let alone sing judging by the way she forces every single one of those notes. Every note just seemed so contrived and like the whole performance was painful for her. Maybe she was sick or something, but she still nailed it.
Why doesn't she sing like THIS anymore? She hasn't done it in so long now everyone just thinks of her as an airhead from the reality show and that she put on weight with the "Mom Jeans" Fiasco. It's a shame. With the right direction she could really be something! Kinda lame to peak as a teenager.
@NuSkoolTone Well all those high notes can take a huge toll on your voice. She popped a blood vessel in it in 2006 and I believe it left some permanent damage.

I'm not trying to be a hater because I do like a lot of Fergie and Katy's songs but I can't say they are good singers no matter how much I like their songs.

@PokerHeroblog they obviously recorded the song the best they could, and then the computer generated a decent voice. That's how it works. Now for people with actual talent, they don't need that much computer interference.

@weedy984 she has a very high chest register and very strong voice, i've seen and heard a lot of her performances where she sings live also and she does it amazingly, she is a singer since so many years and you just don't know anything about her vocal range, check out her videos Fergie High Notes and Fergie High & Long Notes 2 where she is belting beautifully

@lovemy4boys1 Well, I think Christina has a better tone to her voice & definitely has a better vocal TECHNIQUE. Jessica has amazing natural talent and can reach higher notes in chest voice due to the fact that she has a much higher natural tessitura/vocal placement, but that doesn't make a better singer. Christina's voice is deeper, but she knows how to work her voice more than Jessica does. Jessica is just a waste of great potential imo. She peaked with her first album vocally...

@lovemy4boys1 I mean, it's possible, but she's had SO many years to get herself together vocally & learn the proper mechanics of singing, and she just never bothered to do it. Her technique gets worse and worse, and now her range has suffered as a result of it. She has some of the worst vocal habits that I've ever heard in a singer. Honestly, with her technique, I'm surprised she was even able to sing a song like this. She has INCREDIBLE natural talent, but she wasted it away. It's a damn shame.

in my opinion, this has to be one of the hardest, if not the hardest songs to sing. If you sing this song once, you will feel it in your throat just how hard it is. This is the type of song that you can only sing once in a while cause if you sing it frequently, you can really damage your voice. I give props to Jessica for recording this song and singing this song live so well.

I dare anyone to try and sing a song with as much passion, power and gusto as this. @FQuee Not in terms of upper range she sure isn't. Christina's voice fizzles above a high E-flat. Remember how much she needed to struggle and required training just to be able to land the high E in her song "Reflection"? Well, that note is NOTHING compared to the notes that Jessica blasts in this song, especially at the bridge. I'm not saying Christina isn't a better vocalist, but she does NOT have a better upper range. Jessica is a high soprano, Christina is a mezzo. This is a fact.

Only one of the best performances of one of the most difficult songs in ALL OF POP MUSIC. The range of this song and sustained high belting of this song make "I will always love you" look like mary had a little lamb. It is so difficult she doesn't even try to sing it any more. For a while she had a version in a lower key she would pull out, but dunno if she even does that. Jessica is willing to push herself to he limit, even if it means hurting her voice. I respect that.

She obviously killed it, she has some serious pipes. But I'm surprised she can still speak let alone sing judging by the way she forces every single one of those notes. Every note just seemed so contrived and like the whole performance was painful for her. Maybe she was sick or something, but she still nailed it.

Why doesn't she sing like THIS anymore? She hasn't done it in so long now everyone just thinks of her as an airhead from the reality show and that she put on weight with the "Mom Jeans" Fiasco. It's a shame. With the right direction she could really be something! Kinda lame to peak as a teenager.

@NuSkoolTone Well all those high notes can take a huge toll on your voice. She popped a blood vessel in it in 2006 and I believe it left some permanent damage.
