I really wish Pittsburgh wouldn't have traded all their first round picks away it was a pure miracle we didn't trade Mario before he even got to play.
I cried watching this. Before the concussion was the best player on the planet. He didn't even need the quick release his shot was so unstoppable. People like to forget that he was notably more cautious after the concussion he suffered at the hands of Moore. Probably robbed him of two or three more hundred point seasons.

I met him quite a few times at Canuck Carnivals and Signings. He was so nice, he was one of my favourite players to meet because he always talked to you like a friend. He was an awesome Canuck, how many times did I hear "Bertuzzi - Naslund - SCORES!" lol <3 Miss you Naslund and Miss this kinda hockey.
naslund had a maybe 2 years of playing you should of stay with the canucks idk why they trade him he was the best captian of all time and i love this tribute
One of the most accurate shooters I've ever had the chance to watch, Markus Naslund was one of those Canucks in the pre-lockout era that I loved. Him and Bertuzzi, one of the best hockey duos of that era.
As a Vancouver resident since birth, and a fan of the Canucks since I started watching hockey, I remembered Naslund first playing for Pittsburgh and he became one of my favs while not even playing for the Canucks yet. Then he got traded to Vancouver and I was so damn happy. He became one of the top hockey superstars here and I was right about him.
There are two types of players that get their jerseys retired. The first being those who put up ridiculous numbers during their careers and others who meant a tremendous amount to the hockey market surrounding them. Markus was a great hockey player, and for those three seasons along side bertuzzi and morrison, he racked up unreal stats. But his number was raised because he meant so much to the Canucks organization and to the hockey fans out west.
I've loved Naslund for as long as I've been a hockey fan. One of THE best puckhandlers and shooters I've ever seen. Not to mention his work with kids. I have so much respect for him.
Naslund's is one of the top 5 players to never reach 1,000 points in his career, but I love how Vancouver may not have won anything, but they know who was important to their team, organization and for their fanbase, Naslund will always be a Canuck
@20003606 datsyuk has a lot more skill than crosby but there is no way that he is better than crosby. sakic has done a lot more than yzerman has and no i am not saying that yzerman sucks because i respect him for what he is and for what he did
@crosbysakic8719 datsyuk will be a top five scorer this season hes on a pace to tie crosby in points and will probably be the best defensive forward in the leauge. i would take datsyuk over crobsy any day. i like sakic but yzerman is better in my opinion.
Naslund, Bertuzzi, Morrison. My fav linee.
