With her new routine upgraded this year, I can see her ending up in this years world floor finals, and if she hits there's no question that she'll land on the podium. Who knows she may end up winning her first world title which would be awesome.
LOL omg look at :23 - :30 alicia looks at the camera man and he quickly switches to alexandra. and alicia all like smiling and "i saw that buddy!" LOL look look look!!
@bandrunner86 Didn't they upgrade the double tuck to a D in the 2009 code to encourage them? Maybe they're trying to get the gymnasts to shy away from difficulty and be more artistic. But I agree, they are too simple. She could easily do a full-in.
@iTumbleToo Yeah they did upgrade them to D's but I'm pretty sure double pikes are D's too...I think that the 2009 code of points has some difficulty flaws in some elements...a lot of the spins are messed up difficulty wise too.
@iTumbleToo Well at least I know that the Double Leg-Up turn was the same as a Semenova (back attitude double) and the Semenova is still a D but the Double Leg-Up is a C I believe. Which I think they're both still as hard. I think the new code encourages to do more difficult release skills on bars too, because nearly nobody who wants a good bar score will have a regular Yaeger, they encourage more pike and layed out Yaegers.
@elven678 yeah she was too tired so she had to down grad the dismount because she just kept falling on it and it would take her out of the competition. Glad she got it together by 2008 lol
@bandrunner86 I agree I don't like double tucks almost nobody used it in 2008. I don't like Ksenia Semenova's first pass because people think it's a watered down routine. (Which I guess is kinda true.)
@KVHolland3 And almost everyone used double pikes from 2000-2008 on FX. Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin were the only gymnasts in the top subdivision in the Beijing All Around finals who didn't perform a double pike as their last pass. Double tucks are a great throwback to 1980's-1992 gymnastics when floor exercise routines were actually artistic and difficult.
@markedexclusive Us Americans might lack artistry but a lot of other countries can mix it...Ksenia Semenova now has a Double Layout on floor, I think Nastia's great and her floor routine was great and had artistry, but the 2.5 dismount I thought was a bit boring. (I know doubles are hard for her) but what about a Triple Twist?
@markedexclusive yeah I just downloaded the new code for 2010 and beyond so far and they are actually rewarding more on artistic elements. For example if you don't go along with the music and make it look pleasing you can lose up to 3 tenths so that will be some incentive to be more artistic

@KVHolland3 Actually, I believe that the double leg-up was a C in 2008 code. It was upgraded to a D in the 2009 code.
Oh, and regarding Nastia and her dismount.. I heard that she wasn't able to get it all the way around anymore, so they just stick with the 2.5

@elven678 Hmm...that's weird, I always thought Nastia was capable of twisting like mad...maybe in 2005 but probably not in 2008
