How old is Jarred? Wondering cuz' my buddy is about to enroll his 5-yr old at 'karate' at the lions center, and I told him to go with 'JITS' or muay thai. Are you an instructor, or a parent of one of these kids?
I am the father of the bigger boy. He is 13 now. He started competing at 11. 5 is actually a really good age to start bjj and the boys love getting to wrestle at that age. Jarred was 4 when this video was taken and that was his first class. It was a Saturday and they were the only kids there that day so it was a real relaxed class. I am blue belt in bjj and sometimes help with the kids classes.
Yes, Jarred is still wrestling today. He is a little monster on the mat these days. This school was very new at the time this video was shot. Josh and Jarred were the only kids going there at the time. I am sure it was a little odd for both of them. Jarred just really wanted to roll that day real bad. He probably would have gone against me or even his own father. You can probably see more of him if you search for 10th Planet D/FW.
There was a huge size difference there. But little Jarred is always game for a roll. This video was several months ago and now he has some skill to go with his attitude. We start the kids as early as 3. Hope you liked it. I should have some more tournament videos soon.

Is little Jarred still wrestling today? This video is very cute. Josh doesn't feel he's too old to roll with this young boy.
