It was the general banter that occurs during games like this. I would think that it's up to the players to squash the situation by ignoring the "fans" comments. Not the same situation, but what if Barry Bonds reacted every time he was heckled by fans? Not to mention, these kids are young. I can kinda' see them reacting, but the coach turning around and yelling at the crowd too? Nice example.

The thing was, there was a fight with 1.3 seconds left in the game. Both coaches called their players over to the bench, next thing you know, as soon as the puck was dropped to end the game, this is what ensued.

No idea why the gate was open.
