  • utterly outstanding, thats how to rock the place, the who owned this concert.

  • I don't give a fuck where i was born. i'm Brazilian, i'm 13, i love The Who!

    ROCK AND ROLL FOREVER!

  • What can I say? Us Brits stand side by side with our American cousins, this concert showed that, The Who did us proud that night. God bless America and the United Kingdom.

  • after seeing tons of these videos I think it is safe to say Ringo Jr. is the best drummer they've had after Moony.

  • Just as Queen took Live Aid, the Who took this concert, proving once again that the Brits rule when it comes to rock music. That's one plus at least.

  • UK band at their best .....

  • The who, even as geriatrics, have infinitely more talent and energy than any of the youngsters performing today.

  • @dontbeadrone You're so right.

  • Pete Townshend is mind-blowingly cool for someone his age(:

  • good god is Daltrey's voice ever gonna change...sounds the same as when i saw them back in the 70s

  • @scorpod11 roger's voice has definitely gotten a bit worn out..and i'm a huge Who fan from 69...lol

  • Who disliked this video? Insane...

  • Damn they kicked some ass! Pete's a wild man. I saw all 4 together during their "first" farewell tour. Darn sad about John, losing Keith was bad enough....both are greatly missed. Arguably the greatest drummer and bass player ever.... and that's saying a lot as they're been some great ones over the last 40 + years.

  • Make me proud of England too that we have great bands like this! They really show the kids how its done!Best wishes to all our yank cousins!

  • shame the loon wasn't there, but america we lend you some good bands, and thanks for yors!!

  • anyone have an anthem from last 10 years that compares to this?

  • Roger's microphone looks like a really big joint

  • poor Ryan getting that accolade, how can he do it better

  • Ryan Vlahovich does the best cover of this. Check him out on You Tube.

  • The dogs nuts .............................

  • I am so glad I was born in 1957...Started buying records in 1969 and going to shows in 1971...I saw the Who before Keith Moon left us...Later with the original 3, RIP John Entwistle...The WHO are pure greatness...

  • @rolesvill don't give up hope!

  • @tharleyify I am from Denmark and I support you lad

  • I was going to school in Arundel that Fall. Slept on the sidewalk over night to get great seats. " We are the Mods we are the Mods we are we are we are The Mods" Thats all you heard that night! Ah those were the days!

  • John Entwhistle is a beast on the bass...simply an amazing band. Zach kick ass, perfetc guy for the job.

  • @freewheelinQ yes i did

  • Fucking look at this band. Its all you can do to stop tears rolling down yer face.

If this isnt the best song ever written then I havent been paying attention.

  • Together we stand together we fall, Usa and uk

  • I saw The Who in Brighton England in 1979,,,right after Moonie past. I just turned 52 and every time I hear this band the hair on the back of my neck stands up and my arms get goose bumps. I miss John E. every day. Best damn live band ever and some of the best damn lyrics ever penned. They leave it on the stage...bless em all.

  • @MrFatch99 You travelled all the way from the states to see 1 gig? your 1 commited fan! all the best to you Sir

  • @MrFatch99 i'm 50 and it was probably the same tour i went to back in the very arena that this concert took place in!

  • Never Forget

    Thank you the WHO

  • 36 dislikes! who would dislike a 9/11 concert for those who were on the front line on that horrible day?

  • the best .....tyt

  • best song by the who in my opinion

  • @TheDeafElf you misspelled "in the history of ROCK"!!! XD

    :)

  • Essa é a força do bom velho e verdadeiro Rock`n roll

  • They've still got it....

  • I feel sad that in this fickle world, there will never be another band, that after 40 years still makes a teenager rock now! Reading the post's, it's great hearing the young loving the Who, which started 40 years ago, but where's the next? Not X Factor, not Justin Bieber. In UK we were so hung up on X factor, Adele took us by surprise and blew us away, TALENT

  • I absolutely love it, reading the comments, especially from our young American friends! Can you imagine a group from now ,being loved and commented on 40 years from now. And to all you boys in uniform, as i was for full cclour service (22 years, British Army) bless you.

  • i hope be as dynamic as roger at 58 years ! because, even at 58, he's rocks !!!!

  • this is awesome

  • I am the same age as you are and I LOVE YOU!!! I am from SOUTH LYON michigan

    FARMSIDE OF DETROIT

  • I am the same age as you are and I LOVE YOU!!!

  • It's great to see all the policeman and fireman and ambulance squad have a great time with the Who after all the hell they went through.

  • wow pete is so choked up with emotion............. the who was one of the best live bands ever bar none.

  • Sheer perfection.

  • Sheer pefection.

  • this song and "who are you?" are the best Who songs in my opinion.

  • The power, the song.... simply the greatest band doing it's greatest songs to help our country.

  • brilliant, only the who can turn on the magic, wherever they go

  • They took that show and gave them their heartsfor them and the city. and for the people. My brother went there to help my family is 3 generations of firefighters if one goes we all go

  • Zak Starkey on the drums - Ringo's son. The kid has some chops...

  • Comment removed

  • utter perfection.SOOOO proud they're londoners.i think the crowd quite liked them too, do you reckon the big fireman at the front was a who fan ?

  • really makes me happy when i read messages from kids, saying how much they love this music. Not all Beiber fans thank God!!

  • @macmedman i'm 15, it's 2011, and i say that this song and Won't Get Fooled Again are some of the best songs ever written

  • @macmedman Makes me feel good too...if you think about it when this concert happened the likes of boy bands and brit spears were "big" and were no where on the bill. Shows good music always wins

  • @macmedman Most aren't Bieber fans, his music is shit but hesure can rap

  • God Damn!

  • o.O Holy crap! I don't even like The Who that much generally but...wow. Talk about "stealing the show".

  • Perfection!

  • saw Roger last night at the verizon Amphitheatre last night..this song sent me wild!

  • Ladies and gentlemen, the incomparable, THE WHO!

  • Over the last week I've revisited so many videos from this evening, and I just can't get enough of this one. So many emotionally charged performances that night, and this one stands at the top of the heap. Love when Pete lights it up at 1:50. Mick & Keith must have been wondering backstage, as so many have wondered in the past, "How the f--- do we follow these guys?"

  • Zak Starkey(Ringos son) on drums, taught by Kieth Moon

  • I first heard this with the others on the album 40 yrs ago on my 8 track in my new Datsun 1200 in my driveway at my rented cottage in La Jolla, Calif just a few blocks up from the beach. It still rocks after four decades...two of the four rockers are still around, right?

  • This totally STOLE the show!!!!

  • R.I.P. John Entwistle

  • I remember watching this live (on TV) and thinking that not only was England sending its best and bravest men and women to back us up on the battlefeild, it was also sending its greatest artist to help keep our spirits up. God Bless England! God Bless The Who!

  • @amsyco Our army is not necessarily composed of our best and bravest...

  • @moscowguitarman No....obviously your best and bravest are home....talking shit on YouTube.

  • Exactly.

  • You mean Britain

  • @amsyco

thank you pal for the nice message about THE WHO

i am english and live in england

everybody in the UK knows THE WHO are the grestest music artist ever. full stop !

  • @amsyco Having served with your guys on the battlefield, and my wife is currently serving with some of your best meds in Camp Bastion (Afghanistan), i can only apologise that should the need arise, we don't really have any great artists to send anymore, we have to blame the X factor. Although we do have Adele, thank God!

  • There's a reason this is the opener song for CSI:NY!

  • @javajen19 Yeah, they defile it, though.

  • Fuck Yes!

  • The Who really did steal the show that evening. Awesome performances.

  • i still get tears when i watch this.....

  • "Don't cry",

    this got it going,

    never forget!

  • LONG LIVE TRUE ROCK N ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't think any other band could have matched the pure raw emotion of what we were all going through at that time. To see those fireman and policemen rock with The Who was just fucking awesome! So uplifting at a time we all really needed it. Long live The Who!

  • NOBODY owns a stage like the WHO, Old farts like me who have seen them in the 70's know what this experience is like, & NO BAND even comes close! You can even feel it right through this screen. Love Roger: gently tosses the harp to a fan in the front row at the end.

  • Thank you

  • The Who sound great here, Ive seen them with Moonie And ZAK....Zak does a great job, But you really cant compare them, Keith had his style, Zak has his style..Dont compare., Enjoy the fact the Who were able to continue, John Bonham dies and Led Zeppilin falls apart,,,,JUST ENJOY

  • @1234captron Well said, it`s such a joy that we still can see and her The Who LIVE even thou 2 of the original members is gone.

  • @mamm1337 Although we will never forget 9/11, and i was serving in the british Army at the time, we all suffered with you. My own daughter is nearly 8 yrs old, and although i served for 22 years, i'm glad she has no idea what "The Army" is about, apart from me being away. But i was glad to fight alongside your countrymen, for a common good ! Hey, you got him !! I wish my own politicians had the same resolve, all the best, and God bless THE WHO !!

  • Not THE WHO at their best but better than a kick in the ass with a frozen boot

  • @buffspringfield And better than 90% of the crap fucking bands today. :-) Hey, just my opinion.....

  • It brings a tear to my eye seeing all these people so happy because of The Who after the tragedy of 9/11. Rest In Peace to all those who died in such a disaster.

  • @433herlihy it's zak starky, ringo starrs son

  • @gimmieanamethatworks Yes Zak is Ringo's son, and Kieth Moon, the original drummer with the Who, is Zak's Godfather, who taught him to play drums !! How cool is that ?!!

  • DON'T CRY!!!!!! NYC the IRON Apple.....NO the BIG Easy.......US cities are double tough!
