Luc was my favorite character in 2. I remember when he showed up as the antagonist in this game i thought it was bad ass.

Too much power and the chains of destiny can indeed drive a man insane. But even then, he could not grasp what it meant to try and destroy a true rune. Awesome villian but also an awesome character.

Ah, Luc always makes me sad. From the beginning, when I played 1 and 2, he was my favorite, even though he didn't play a big roll. Then all of a sudden, bam, he's the main bad guy. Nooooooo. Poor Luc. I hated that he died, even if he was redeemed in the end.

I love twisting story lines and the fact the writers actually decided to do something with Luc and Sasarai. But it was sad it had to turn out this way for Luc; I never saw him as this type of character before (even considering Harmonia). He always just seemed very lazy or bored, not jaded so much as only loyal to Leknaat, etc.

Maybe it's just me, but I always felt III was weird with Luc as the antagonist.... That and the fact he was being assisted by Yuber without any Pesmerga stalking....<<

Luc's actions hold more depth than you think. He didn't just suddenly betray Leknaat, over the course of time he changed since the fact he found out he is nothing but a refuge for the true wind rune and he wanted to rid himself of it at all cost. That even includes the expense of the lives of others. He wasn't really an evil person, but he did bad things in order to do what was right (in his mind). Just because he was cunning and smart doesn't mean he's evil, he was rather deluded and misguided.

if there's one thing I liked about this game, it's that the battles are fought without the roll of the dice. This time you can fight battles based on your skill level, sweeet.

Dude Hugo isn't Fliktor because they're 2 different people, at this point of Suikoden's history Fliktor would've been an old man, unless you go there I don't think people would've liked having an old man fighting a conflict

When I played the part with Sasarai, I made that fight last as long as possible, heh. I loved seeing those two interact.

You barely get time to pause the screen before the next bubble pops in. Go look at the scene with Hugo and Luc on the bridge---it's ridiculous. If Video time is limited; go upload in more numerous parts. waiting a half second after big chunks of texts---you can already put up 16 minutes. Might as well go for the whole mile and make it a 20 or 25

There's a scene in Suikoden II which Luc tells Shu he'll take out Sasarai...and Luc already has this plan in his head back then.

Sasarai didnt join the highland. He is Harmonian and Harmonia sent him to aid Highland.

I don't think he has 'this plan' in his mind back then. He was definitely a 'good' person, fiercely loyal to Leknaat until he learned the truth from the True Wind Rune.

Know, he already knew about his roots in SuikodenII. Perhaps he didnt have a plan set or anything but that's why he was more of a dick in II. There was this exchange

Luc: I can't tell you right now, but you'll find out one day...

Well, remember Richmond's investigation? Luc saw something back in the shrine and he was told to keep quiet about it. I believe this was pertaining to the truth about his and Sasarai's existence. His plan wasn't to put justification on his existence. It's more of a power to encourage his ambition more. His ambition is what he says: change the fate of mankind. He started to see this fate after the war, so he can't have S3 planned out since S1 or S2.

Wow... I've played all other Suikodens than this, but Suikoden III is my favourite now. Excellent in-depth story and characters which really asks for a sequel... perhaps suiko VI will be in Harmonia? So much questions unanswered...
