Hmmm the Porsche has 4 less cylinders and less then 1/2 the displacement per cylinder and it still beat the viper. It would appear the the German engineering still wins out. I would assume that the Porsche GT (which would be a better comparison for this displacement argument) would do just about everything better then the American engineered viper

Props to both cars! Viper is an American Icon like the Corvette ZR1, and the Ford GT!... Porsche 911s are a great German icon... Both are great cars!... Heck I wouldn't mind having either of 'em seeing as they both perform amazingly and cost around the same, along with similar maintenance costs & Insurance costs....
Most euro/jap sporty cars make 100bhp/litre or thereabout without turbo. It's hard to imagine how this american shitbox manages to make so little from so much. It's also amazing how it can be so heavy when it has two seats and is made from plastic.

As for the turbo having 500 bhp, I would say that a UMW tune plus exhaust is good for closer to 530 to 550 on 93 pump, and I think the turbo weighs less than the viper, so it will have a slightly better power to weight ratio giving it the win. UMW tune is one of the best tunes available

no surprise as to outcome. UMW is one of the best tuners in the world of porsches. The viper is an excellent car and it is fast. A stock turbo would have lost, but not by much, however, with just a tune and exhaust, the turbo will be much faster. vipers also have traction issues, so this run was actually in the vipers favor as it was from a roll. From a dig, the viper would have gotten stomped even worse.

Not many cars go out do the viper stock. Most of the cars that are faster than the viper are faster at high speed as the viper is american made and we have no use for a 200mph car. If you want to see the viper in true form, turbo it as most euro cars have done and that "slow" viper will outrun even the bugatti that already has 4 turbos. viper was never about elegance, only brute force. The tall gears keep the viper manageable. if you put shorter gears in it, wouldnt stay on the road, dangerous.

@lucashoughton1 Many european cars use 6 liter engines... so I guess that's excessive too? Also, that convertible doesn't have the aerodynamics a coupe would have, not to mentions the porsche is much lighter. And if that porsche didn't have turbos, it'd be just another v6. Turbos = Not great engineering.

Not many cars go out do the viper stock. Most of the cars that are faster than the viper are faster at high speed as the viper is american made and we have no use for a 200mph car. If you want to see the viper in true form, turbo it as most euro cars have done and that "slow" viper will outrun even the bugatti that already has 4 turbos. viper was never about elegance, only brute force. The tall gears keep the viper manageable. if you put shorter gears in it, wouldnt stay on the road, dangerous.

They dont belong to Fiat. They made a partnership deal with Fiat, there is a big difference not like it matters. American supercars still own, Corvette ZR-1, Mosler MT900s, Saleen S7TT, and the world's fastest street legal production car the SSC Ultimate Aero are all champs.

I am a Viper SRT-10 owner, and I have had no problem putting GT2's to bed.
First look at the Video. Look how the Viper is shifting??? The Viper driver is Granny shifting. He does not know how to drive. If he was shifting inside his powerband you would see the Viper buck inbetween shifts.
Dude is a bad driver and thats what this this video only shows.
